That it was isis, or the taliban is saying it was isis.

This is confusing

So I assume we're just gonna bend over and take it? Collateral damage?

it's like as if the US and Taliban were in a wrestling match and then ISIS came in and hit the US with a steel chair when the ref wasn't looking

not "bending over and taking it" is what led to a 20 year war in Afghanistan

Given the chaos there, what would you expect the USA to do?

Did not think I'd be marking the Taliban Sympathizer square on my 2021 bingo card yet here we are
The thing is, you don’t do a terrorist attack and then blame someone else. The point of something like that is to let it be known you were responsible.

Does that make it isis? I don’t know, but I don’t understand the “taliban is lying” thing here
The same Taliban that are actively claiming there's no evidence that bin Laden was involved in 911?
Where are you seeing that it’s the taliban saying it’s isis? Unless you think us intelligence is covering for the taliban?
Just Tony ITT.
Early reports are saying it was an attack/suicide bombing by ISIS.
I got the info from the link shaf posted.

ISIS/Taliban all the same imo.

I find it funny though,"we're just gonna listen to Taliban after they've been saying stuff about 9/11"

US itself knows who helped fund it and didn't do anything to the Saudis.

No more troops, just drone the absolute hell out of them.

Trump got the taliban to sign a peace treaty and Biden ripped it up.

The desperation for non-Trump republicans to be able to vote R again without a crisis of conscience is going to be the death of us all.

This attack is about the left-behinds, not the departing. There have already been reports of armed skirmishes between Taliban forces and rebels (some of whom are undoubtedly IS supporters).

Sadly, I can't say the investigation isn't deserved. I do believe they should have *some* coordination on how this stuff happened. Not sure if that's a president thing, or a pentagon thing, but I'd like to know.

As of today, I had read or heard that there were still 1K Americans they're trying to find and bring home. First immediate question, is how and why was that allowed to happen? That doesn't seem on the up & up, but I'd like to know.

I believe this withdrawal date was stated months ago.

This stuff is the result of, it seems, nobody over there actually believing Biden would follow through. I am not sure what Americans were over there besides the military, but seems like they were told to leave the country, but stayed under the belief we weren’t actually going to move out.

Sorry, but this is a tragic, plant corn grow corn.

Also, the trump admin was actively making sure that no Afghans would br allowed to emigrate here. So all those poor souls condemned to die is hard to pin on Biden, and I imagine those are the most desperate people right now.

Define “this stuff”
Open questions I'd have:

1) Who made the call to move it this abruptly, what was the perceived plan to do this, how did it fail?

2) Why are there still 1k+ Americans unable to be contacted, or not lifted out almost a week after this.

3) Why was there seemingly zero coordination to pull this off if they weren't as prepared?

I happen to be fine with the evacuation itself, get the hell out of there - but what were the decisions that lead up to the scenario we have playing out right now. I feel that's a warranted investigation.
