Wouldn't that move punish the Palestinians more than the Israelis? An Israeli settler who lives in a West Bank settlement can just drive back into Jerusalem or wherever to buy Ben and Jerry's ice cream, if they so choose. A Palestinian resident of the West Bank or Gaza Strip sure isn't going to be let through the border just to make an ice-cream run.

Pelosi has the right to veto any person nominated. Jordan is the absolute first person I'd get off the committee, but being that he's on the judiciary panel he makes sense.

Secondly, as far as I knew, this stuff was behind closed doors, so he doesn't get to ham it up for TV hearings. That being said, dude is a trash bag human.
