Watched 0 minutes of the trial. Don't know what the defense was against a video of him suffocating an already detained guy for 9 minutes despite pleas to stop

Max sentence for 2nd is 40 years, 3rd is 25 years, manslaughter is 10 years

Each charge carries a different maximum; iirc I saw a thing that the theoretical maximum he's facing is now something like 70 years. He's technically a first-time offender, so I'm not sure if there are guidelines that will mitigate what sentence(s) he gets, or if that's thrown out the window if your first time at the mast is a three-fer for killing someone. Also don't know if his sentences can be applied consecutively, or if they will run concurrently.

in the most high profile police violence episode of our generation, the cop went down. hard. without ambiguity.

this is gonna make plenty of cops feel less invincible immediately.
