What if they are considered nonviolent with the officer but go around the corner and pull a gun and take a hostage because they know they are going to jail for a while?

sorry, this one was a funny concern.

the rest...meh. ok someone stole a car. you don't have to deal with it in the moment. and if you're pulling over a drunk driver, you have a taser, so use it if you have to. none of these are convincing cases for cops needing to have a firearm for a traffic stop.

I think, honestly, had the US focused their full attention on bin laden and the taliban, they could have “won” the war. It would have maintained a narrow scope, crush al qaeda and their taliban patrons, then gone home.

But invading iraq just **** everything up, expanded the effort into nation building and changed the overall opinion of us forces in the region.
