I think you might be missing the point here... the fan bois of Trump are just a different breed from the fan bois of Obama. They are far more outwardly cult-like. You can argue, if you please, that Obama fan bois are a mental cult, so to speak, but they were not decking out their houses like the Trumpers are. If you disagree with that, fine... we must just be living in vastly different areas of the country.

Let's also not forget the historic nature of the first African American major party nominee and president. That's sort of a big deal in and of itself.

Yesterday was the first day if in person early voting in NC. I thought I could pop in after dropping mini meow off at school to hammer out my votes. There were - and I’m trying to estimate conservatively- 200 people lined up 90 minutes before the polls opened.

The amount of early voting - be it in-person or by mail - this year has been astonishing. We're creeping up on nearly 20 million ballots that have already been returned nationwide, and there are still several states where the registration deadline hasn't even hit yet.

I wish it didn't take this kind of f**knuttery to drive this level of engagement.
