My guess is the grand idiot has caused so much attention to be on mail in ballots, that most people will be on top of doing the correct thing with their ballots and it we'll see numbers like we've never seen before

Yeah. I think this unintentionally turns into a big "get out the vote" for Biden. Whoops

I’m just going to identify one way in which I hope that you, as graduates of Notre Dame, will fulfill the promise of being a different kind of lawyer. And that is this: that you will always keep in mind that your legal career is but a means to an end, and as Father Jenkins told you this morning, that end is building the kingdom of God. You know the same law, are charged with maintaining the same ethical standards, and will be entering the same kinds of legal jobs as your peers across the country. But if you can keep in mind that your fundamental purpose in life is not to be a lawyer, but to know, love, and serve God, you truly will be a different kind of lawyer.
I can still certainly see a bias potentially but it’s not a huge one and it’s not worth a major discussion.

So if they withhold funds from NYC, does NYC have to pay taxes and send money to the fed?

https://www.factcheck.org/2020/09/trump ... ot-harris/

lol
Vice President Mike Pence, seated across from Trump in the televised White House meeting, had explained one legislative option states can use for disarming potentially dangerous shooters. If family members or law enforcement officers are concerned that someone is a risk to himself or others, they can go to court and get an order — sometimes called risk protection orders or gun violence restraining orders — to confiscate that person’s weapons, Pence said.

Trump responded, saying: “Or, Mike, take the firearms first and then go to court. Because that’s another system, because a lot of times, by the time you go to court, it takes so long to go to court, to get the due process procedures. I like taking the guns early. Like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida, he had a lot of firearms — they saw everything — to go to court would have taken a long time, so you could do exactly what you’re saying, but take the guns first, go through due process second.”
And now there are propaganda memes attributing the quote to Harris instead.

There's no need to misattribute stuff when Biden's own words are clear:

Cooper: "So to gun owners out there who say 'Well, a Biden administration means they will come for my guns'?"

Biden: "Bingo, you’re right if you have an assault weapon. The fact of the matter is they should be illegal, period."

The term “assault weapon” perturbs me because it feels like it was coined intentionally to rile people up, but it looks like the general definition of an assault weapon is this:

Image

I’ve shot guns and I think I’m generally pro-guns over anti-guns, but I wouldn’t say I’m a gun expert. To me, the most significant piece here is the detachable mag with 30 rounds. I could see that being a matter of significance in mass shootings (which I feel like is the aim of this) and don’t have any real issues with it

I’m curious, for those that have issues with it, why?

No issue for me. I'm a big fan of guns. Shoot a lot. They are fun when used responsibly. Unfortunately we have a lot of idiots ruining that fun for people like me. If that means we have to take them away, then take them all away. I'll find something else to do.

Are we back to the point in the argument where it is remembered that the number of deaths attributable to "assault rifles" is almost nothing in comparison to dozens of other firearms and random implements?
