They were parked along 101 East Palmer St., across from the station, when the gunman came up “from behind” just before 7 p.m., Captain Kent Wegner said during a news conference later Saturday night. He said the deputies were facing southbound, and the shooter walked up from the north.

“He walked along the passenger side of the car,” Wegner said. “He acted as if he was going to walk past the car. And then he made a left turn directly toward the car, raised a pistol and fired several rounds inside of the vehicle, striking both of the sheriff’s deputies.”

Both deputies were left in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, officials said. They underwent surgery at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood within four hours of the shooting.

Apparently an NPR activist masquerading as a member of the press came running up and got arrested too, despite not even having her press credentials. Blocking access to a hospital and trying to get into an emergency room...just when you think the street vermin can't get any lower, man....

I saw that. There's been a number of officers shot lately as well. It's a chicken or the egg type of thing. This is going to continue to cause more unrest on both sides.

For one, it’s objectively an absolutely despicable act to murder a police officer. So am with you on being disturbed by the incident.

But that tweet about the protesters, was trash and unnecessary there were 10 people outside the hospital. Nothing that needed to be publicized like that. They should have just cleared it out and not try to stoke additional animosity.

That is the most forceful demonstration I have ever seen. Pray for those cops that had to withstand a barrage of mean words from 4 obnoxious dadholes wandering around an entrance to the hospital.

I am also grateful that the hospital didn’t just spontaneously combust after having to face such a great obstruction to their operations. A true demonstration of American greatness that this incident didn’t spiral into full on anarchy.

Shockingly, these tweets from the police twitter account are all BS. If you click on the thread you get to where the cops outnumber the "protesters" by like 10-1, she approaches them arresting someone, and then gets thrown around and arrested.
