Facts and making up are two different things. Making up = bad. Facts = doing your job as a reporter. But we’re in a world now where reporting facts is seen as being loathing to the president.

And this is a general observation, not related to the specifics states above.
That's not how journalism works.

You can't just run stories based on uncorroborated hearsay with no on the record quotes.

No journalism school on the planet would let an undergrad get away with that in a school paper.
That’s just not true. Sorry for bringing this story back up, but I just read it. Journalists do use anonymous sources and don’t have to have on the record sources to back it up. Obviously, that means the reader needs to trust the reporter and the publication to a higher degree, which will never happen in these times. And let’s be honest, if there was a named source here, it would not make an iota of difference in this argument. One group would believe it and one wouldn’t. The only difference would be that source would be attacked by the other side.
You can use anonymous sources of course, that wasn't the point here.

It was the connection of uncorroborated hearsay with no on the record quotes that is the issue.

The article stated, “according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day.”

If the source heard it directly, how is that hearsay? What am I missing?

Is there any reason to believe trump over anyone else? If he had one iota of credibility, his life wouldn't be a feedback loop of him racking his balls on his own words.

Who could have possibly predicted that trump would blow through those campaign dollars and treat that pot as a slush fund. I know that in 2016 the rnc’s ground operation was in place for trump, but now that the rnc is run by stooges, do they have the requisite ground operation?

I get email blasts all day, the texts and calls, imo, indicate a ground game. Cause that’s like a “hey, it’s steve from pa dems, can I get you to phone bank or give money”.

So sounds, they have something, PA is so vital for trump, look for those communications to pick up. Because that is the campaign going through the voter roles and collecting internal

I am a registered libertarian...I don't mind really, I even had a lengthy conversation with one of the callers a few weeks back...I'm not going to give them money because supporting either of these political machines is the stuff smooth brains are made of, but I could be convinced to vote out Captain Stupid, but it would take a whale of an effort and competence that I have not yet seen from the Dems in my sweet short adult life...

Seems like they are running a pretty bare bones operation, just blasting out donation requests, not seeking volunteers for phone banking or canvassing. That takes local organizing and paid campaign workers on the ground.
