She was the only one that I actively opposed. So...take your pick.
Elizabeth Warren?
I'd have been okay with Warren. Not ideal, but I don't think she is as far left as she had to present herself to compete with that numbnuts Sanders.

I saw somewhere that Kamala Harris is "progressive" if you're a centrist, which seems to be most of the Dem establishment.

Which explains why they're touting her as "progressive".

I am, but not about this. This was just so predictably stupid. In a 'you only had one job' kind of way.

But, whatever. It's not my party, was just hoping for a well considered effort at Not Trump and they failed. So dumb.

Reminds me of McCain.

Don't forget Biden wrote the crime bill that he conveniently doesn't agree with anymore that incarcerated massive amounts of minorities on petty drug offenses with mandatory minimums.

Yeah in one of my group chats, I was saying something similar...on the heels (well, I guess, during, depending on where you live) of massive civil unrest regarding police brutality and government oppression of minorities...you get some serious pro-police, petty crime junkies on the case...just enough stupid to make people hesitate...

Now, surely, views can evolve, and all that...but a very loud minority of folks that like to dig up someone's past and use it again them forever, surely won't let these very below average people escape unscathed, will they...?

The more-clever-by-half party to the rescue...h-hoo...hooray...?

As a progressive, I was already not excited about Biden. This changes nothing. This election has been an “anybody but Trump” race.

I said a few months ago that this whole idea of picking a moderate Democrat for the presidency to “capitalize on the moderate voters who don’t like the far left or right” could be a flawed premise.

I am way, way more in line with Biden’s policies compared to say Bernie Sanders. But I just want Trump out. That’s my only goal this election. But all of the so called moderate Republicans 6 months ago who swore they would vote D if they chose a moderate are falling by the wayside just as they did 4 years ago despite a moderate being chosen. That time, it was because Hillary was so unlikeable. This time I’m curious what the excuse will be, but it seems that Kamala Harris will be the scapegoat.

It will be curious to see what happens in November...

And to add, I’m not even talking about this board. I’m talking about friends and family who are slowly trying to find excuses to walk back their declaration of voting for Biden.

The above is why picking a moderate to try to sway middle GOP voters is a losing tactic.

They'll drag you along so you think you have them then come up with a million reasons why they won't vote Dem.

Honest question, is there maybe some miscommunication/misrepresentation between "moderate" and "hollow"...? More specifically, is Biden a moderate Democrat, or is he just not very forthcoming on any particular stances...?

I think this was probably a free roll more than anything...I can only speak about the people that I know and interact with, but Trump has pissed off the people that could go either way enough where if the Dems put out a competent person with competent, sensible ideas - even if they were a little unconventional for the typical, milquetoast political spectrum that only complete losers bask in - that we/they could be swayed rather easily...like a Yang or some such...

Going with back to back empty political hacks against a guy that does nothing but spout ideas to rile up his fans (dumb, pointless ideas or not) doesn't strike me as a great strategy...it's basically the Monorail guy vs Abe Simpson...

Joe Biden strikes me as the definition of an empty suit. The Mitt Romney of the DNC.

Well, it's not like she's going to say, "Because I really like the idea of being one 77-year-old* heartbeat away from being president," even though that's the reason.

*78 by inauguration day.

Harris is a politician, and that explains a lot of her prosecutorial deficiencies, it seems. Not crazy about her, but don’t think she’s awful. Still want to read more about her though.

Biden sucks. These may have been the bottom two or three, IMO, in the list of dem contenders that were in the last couple debates. Meh.

Yes. I am not a huge fan of Harris, but I rather have her than another 4 years of the incredible incompetence, corruption, and flaming dumpster full of dog poop that has been the Trump administration.
