Wasn't me haha, it was nobody I think...

Regardless, that level of overreach (a government actor denying a life-sustaining utility based on presumptive, acute threat to public health with no real basis for action) is a pretty sick thing to pine for...it would certainly be a dissonance olympics gold medal performance for many here, which says a lot...

Well that's something
NY AG: "These four executives (and probably others) were abusing the NRA, so the solution is to dissolve the entire NRA, a 150-year-old organization with more than 5 million members."

LOL wut?

WLP is a jerk who has run the NRA into the ground, and I'd love to see him perp walked into a courthouse. But If a bank officer embezzles from a bank, the solution is not to shut down the bank. It's to put the offending executive in jail. It's patently obvious that the form of relief being sought here is purely political.

Looks like she has authority over them:
The attorney general has regulatory authority over the N.R.A. because it is chartered as a nonprofit in New York. She is also seeking to oust Mr. LaPierre and Mr. Frazer, and to bar all four men from ever serving on nonprofit boards in New York again.

I think part of the settlement with Trump's charity was that they would shut it down.

Could the NRA give up their non-profit status and continue on?

From an accounting perspective, they could theoretically lose their non-profit status and re-apply showing what changes they have made and possibly get it back. Another angle, and one a client is going through right now, is that depending on what the details are (I haven't read through this enough) - the NRA could be the victim here due to the officers using their money for personal use and if they comply with the investigation they'll be okay. This will be very political though so who knows

Shut it down. Restart it with focus on weapons safety and stronger vetting for gun buyers in exchange for discounts. If you don't flag yourself with crimes or criminal threats for a period of time, you unlock previously banned components. Your kids can inherit your standing if they do the same.

Hold shooting competitions with strict regulations on form and procedure, with good payouts for winning. Get access to surplus hunting tags easier at a lower price.

There's all kinds of things they could do besides siphoning cash from doomsday preppers.

Probably not without disposing of all of its assets. Generally speaking, once property is dedicated to charitable/nonprofit purposes, it cannot be used again for private/for-profit purposes and must stay within the sphere of charitable organizations. The NRA owns a fair amount of stuff, like the Whittington Center in New Mexico and the more than 10,000 firearms held by the NRA Museums Division. It would have to transfer those assets to other nonprofits.

The NRA does that already. It's the largest and oldest organizer of shooting competitions in the US, including the National Matches and Bianchi Cup, and in a typical year (i.e. not 2020) the NRA sanctions more than 11,000 shooting tournaments and more than 50 national shooting championships.

At least two North Paulding High School students have been suspended after sharing images of a school hallway jammed with their mostly maskless peers, and the principal has warned other students against doing the same.

North Paulding High School in Dallas, Ga., about an hour’s drive from Atlanta, was thrust into the national spotlight this week when pictures and videos surfaced of its crowded interior on the first and second days of its first week back in session. The images, which showed a sea of teens clustered together with no face coverings, raised concerns over how the district is handling reopening schools during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Facing a fierce online backlash, Paulding County Schools Superintendent Brian Otott told parents and guardians in a letter that the images “didn’t look good.” But he argued that they lacked context about the 2,000-plus student school, where masks are a “personal choice.”

Well that's cool, but I was thinking more of a shooting season with playoffs and a championship. Turn the NRA into a positive thing, and we can change guns from killing machines to a meditative discipline.

Biden said, in a comparison to African Americans, Latin Americans were more diverse, or something along those lines.

Maybe stop calling them african or latino because they're black or brown.

The National Matches (which have been held for more than 100 years) are the championships for most national rifle and pistol shooting competitors and disciplines. There are separate NRA national finals for silhouette shooting, black powder, air rifle, collegiate shooting, and a number of other shooting disciplines, including the Bianchi Cup for action-pistol shooting. The NRA isn't the only national sanctioning body for action shooting, but it's one of the major ones.

The NRA sanctions thousands of shooting competitions, is the nation's largest source of firearm education and training, provides hunter safety and training, operates multiple facilities for competitive and recreational shooting, provides training and support services for local ranges and clubs, and operates two of the largest shooting outdoors trade shows (the Great American Outdoor Show and the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits). It's not just a political lobbying organization.

You have become extremely cynical and bitter in recent months. I hope you don't drop to the level of NP.

It would make for some pretty boring TV. Most of the competitions at the National Matches are target/bullseye disciplines, and even I admit that it's pretty boring to watch someone take rifle shots at a target up to 1,000 yards away.
