Correct. Surprisingly, a lot of stuff in stores (shelf placement, neighboring products) works that way.

I don't know how it works for hard goods or clothing and whatnot, but in software/video games you have a thing where every three months your national account manager for [RETAILER] would meet with the person in charge of putting product on shelves for [RETAILER]. The publisher, based on past performance, would be allocated X amount of slots on shelves, and the more valuable placement is eye level. And if you lost a placement, it could take years to get it back, so you'd often find yourself in a situation if a product was delayed that you'd go out and license a thing that you maybe didn't have a super high degree of confidence in, but you needed it for your assortment to fill your allocated shelf space.

Bed and breakfast Nordic Pineapple in Saint Johns has removed their Norwegian flag after dozens of people confuse it for the Confederate flag.

Greg and Kjersten Offbecker moved into the historic mansion two years ago and turned it into a bed and breakfast. As decoration, they hung a Norwegian flag next to the American flag at the front entrance of the inn, but dozens of guests and people driving by have accused the couple of flying a Confederate flag.

“They are the same color, but there are no stars on the Norwegian flag, and the Confederate flag is a big ‘x’ and the Norwegian flag is part of the Nordic countries, they’re all crosses,” Offbecker said.

Last week, the couple decided to remove the flag as they were updating their marketing materials.
