Only 327,999,946 more individuals to be outraged about before we figure out what this country is doing.
It's progress. :pop:

How are BLM protest not pre-produced?
Do you think that the degree of effort and planning from local government that goes into a parade is comparable to a street protest? Or are you just being contrarian?
That's not what you said.

You said they don't require any, because presumably they are spontaneous.

We've seen plenty of BLM protests with thousands of people. You don't think that doesn't take comparable work from both BLM and the local authorities to a parade?

Usually police don't bulk up like that for floats.

I mean, right, protests don't spontaneously appear. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

The BLM protests haven't been spontaneous for well over a month.

Catholic church got big monies from PPP. I didn't know this but they aren't allowed to receive money from the SBA, so they got an exemption for that and then got a second exemption because they have more than the required amount of employees to be a small business.

They aren't going to get cabinet positions, but I'm sure they will get to pass some names to the transition team for candidates to fill agency positions.

I don't really care, their sway is ridiculously overstated, because, as I would argue, the "down the line" journos place an absurd amount of weight on any republican that criticizes Trump. They can pretty much equivocate any Trump-democrat dispute to "Trump did this, democrats are saying that it is bad". The best we can hope for from a left perspective is a democratic candidate who negotiates with himself to arrive at the perceived middle ground between a liberal and conservative compromise (see Obama). Dems are too spineless to try and strong arm a seriously progressive agenda, but more than willing to strong arm their own party to agree to these imaginary compromise positions. But, this is of course the best we can hope for, DC would self-destruct itself and blow everything up before doing something like allowing Bernie Sanders to become president.

A family friend is losing her mind online because she was denied entry to Walmart because she refused to put on a mask. Several people have commented and told her that, next time, she should lie and tell them she has a medical condition and that the employees aren't legally allowed to ask what that condition is. Stay classy, folks.

Facebook is considering banning political advertising across its network before the November general election, according to two people with knowledge of the discussions, in what would be a stark change to the social network’s practices.

The decision has not been finalized yet, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions were confidential, and the company could continue with its current political advertising policy.

Meanwhile, our President is going on TV to brag that he 'aced' a cognitive test in which he had to remember five words and identify a picture of a cat... and in so doing the administering doctors declared the results 'unbelievable'.

Good sign that Trump is going to lose, FB trying to weasel back into the good graces of the dems. They are just doing whatever they can to make sure the government doesn't try and write new tech regulations.

We had some virtual town hall thing that had a couple of the board execs on it, I work in a very republican industry, and the one dude was talking about potential volatility tied to the election, and doing some odd beating around the bush, but pretty directly saying that "country changes", "dem president will lead to additional oversight of the industry" "but it's a good thing". My take, lots of execs in the country want the cheeto out too.

I think he was challenging Biden to take the test. I saw a Dave Weigel tweet the other day commenting on some video of Hogan Gidley talking about Biden being senile. His take was like, Trump team spending so much effort lowering the expectations for Biden at the debate, if he doesn't fall over the podium and start rambling on about his friend corn-pop, it's going to be considered a great performance.

Here is a good example of the gaslighting and revisionist history going on right now. The death rates are massively lower in all the southern states compared to just the NYC area itself.

But, at the same time, things are very bad in these states. It’s just a stupid exercise to need to compare it to nyc. Why can’t it just be that these situation being out of control makes it harder for the rest of the Country to go back to normal? Like how ny messing up so bad started it here.

Why does the clock have to reset every time someone mentions Covid stats, as if there weren't ample time and evidence for people in the south?

Ohhhhh the death rates are lower? That was the same excuse in Italy, NY, then Michigan, and everywhere else there's seemingly a spike happening. Incubation period? Weeks from ventilators to death? Anyone remember? does anyone ever remember five f***ing seconds ago?

Nah those bodies are still technically breathing so ignore it.
