I’m not trying to start a debate on cops vs protestors, but I gotta say....some of the shows of force by the police I’ve seen is a little **** scary. I know it’s gotten crazy with the riots but damn.

I don’t really understand the partisan dynamics at play in this debate. Civil unrest is scary and terrible, cops outright murdering people for no discernible reason is terrible. I guess it’s a chicken versus the egg argument, and people take issue with that.

It is certainly not the case that Democrats are good on this issue, so this is not a fruitful discussion to frame it in that manner. So yeah, when Democrats say things about “don’t loot, go vote” they should be laughed at. I honestly think that throwing it into the partisan arena perpetuates the cycle, fix the disgusting policing, crack down on the rioting.

Google "Reginald Denny", and explain to me why anyone in that situation (cop or otherwise) should either back up or get out of the car. If he would have reversed and hit someone, there would be outrage over that too. There was a FedEx Driver that was blocked in another city, and they were trying to climb onto his truck and were pointing guns in his window. He (understandably) panicked and drove off, dragging one of the idiot demonstrators to their death with him. No great loss there.

I saw both angles/clips. I dunno, I've been outspoken against police brutality/aggression repeatedly in this thread, but what you saw last night were people that were literally acting like uncaged animals. The stories in Philadelphia about protesters using squirt guns filled with caustic agents and squirting them at officers. Setting apartment buildings on fire. Stoning and stomping the sht out of people in 20 on 1 attacks. Etc.

So if I was a cop and I found myself in a mob like that, that seemed to be trying to block me in, I don't know what he was supposed to do. Like I said, if he would have reversed and one of them would have ran behind him, we would be hearing about how an NYPD cop murdered someone with their vehicle.

Freddy. They have insurance. Their lives might be ruined for months or years, but they have insurance where they can battle to get their claim possibly approved. So all is good.
