Absolutely should be investigated, and I believe Biden was still a bad choice.

Seeming more and more like Warren was the best choice.

President Donald Trump was informed in late January of a memo written by his trade adviser, Peter Navarro, warning that 'half a million American souls' could die of coronavirus, The New York Times reported Saturday.

Trump has denied he saw the memo at the time.
The Times also reported that Trump was displeased that Navarro had put the information in writing.
Seems more and more while China was lying about it, the US had intelligence that something was happening pretty early.

This is like the third or fourth time Navarro's memo has been reported on

Think about what would have happened had that nba player tested positive forcing the league, then the nhl to cancel games?
That was March 11, that was also right around when cities canceled patty’s day parades, then on the 16th states began with the stay at home orders. There easily could have been another week of mass gatherings in the us.

I feel like it needs to be continually reported on because you have the president still saying nobody saw this coming. The intelligence was there to warn us about it, it wasn't completely hidden by China's fog.

Didn’t we start to hear people were dropping dead in China in the streets right after Christmas?

We don’t need a memo from Navarro to know that Trump ignored all of this for weeks because he was worried about his own ass.

The narrative that the administration bears no responsibility is crap. I mean Christ, our testing still isn’t where it should be, but whatever

If it was so clear than why did no other nation operate on a different footing than the United States outside of maybe South Korea?

May have been coincidental, but nba canceling definitely seemed like the impetus for a lot of others following suit.

A) we were one of the last countries infected in the western world
B) aren’t we the greatest country in the world with the greatest healthcare system? We should be doing better than everyone else
C) how much will it take for you to say something critical of your boy

Here’s reporting on a group email thread beginning in January including the current head of COVID response for Health and Human Services, a VA medical advisor and other former government officials that shows that scientific and medical professionals were being ignored. Much like I’m sure happened in other countries (saved you a post Freddy):

I also think knowing about it and handling it are two very different things.

Everyone handled it poorly, but I don’t know how you defend they didn’t know about it.

So maybe the other countries didn’t ignore them, but were massively incompetent.

I mean I guess. But that is probably due to our superior healthcare system. The point is we were delayed in getting tests manufactured and governmental restrictions for shelter in place initiated because the White House ignored this for weeks both in public AND in private. I honestly wouldn’t have minded a public denial of the severity of the situation to help calm the populace and the markets, but to do nothing behind the scenes is egregious. And they did nothing behind the scenes at best and at worst actively slowed things down in regards to test preparation

The point is, our country did not do a good job of being proactive, or even reactive as well as they should have. That has nothing to do with other countries.

We did pretty bad, but we did better than most of Europe and China.
