From the beginning, the Trump administration’s attempts to forestall an outbreak of a virus now spreading rapidly across the globe was marked by a raging internal debate about how far to go in telling Americans the truth. Even as the government’s scientists and leading health experts raised the alarm early and pushed for aggressive action, they faced resistance and doubt at the White House — especially from the president — about spooking financial markets and inciting panic.

Thread for those that think the criticism is based on TDS and not the objective reality of the situation.

By the way, if you don't believe there is a certain portion of his base that think this whole thing is a big democratic hoax, I don't know what to tell ya.

Edit: Possibly not any more, but at the outbreak when governors first started shutting things down, you're damn right they believed it all to be a hoax to crash the stock market and economy.
The shift has been interesting. A couple of people I used to work with posted things about how it was a democratic hoax. Now they’re posting how trump has handled this great, that everyone needs to listen and stay inside, and that pelosi is the devil.

Also, good to know that Trump is spending the morning live tweeting cable news morning shows.

I believe what’s being missed here is I never said he called it a hoax. I said his lunatic loyalists were running around calling it a hoax.
Last night someone posted a graphic stating that there were 103,868 deaths from the SEASONAL FLU in 2020 and 8,979 deaths from corona. Then she added, "GUESS WHICH ONE IS BEING USED TO CRASH THE ECONOMY & USHER IN MEDICAL MARTIAL LAW?"

I imagine that the same people who handle/research impeachment proceedings are the same people who research/monitor global viral outbreaks, so really, this is on Pelosi's head, is it not...?

I guess you can never be sure...but if that's not a lay-up for sarcasm, it's at least a short range jumper...

This lifelong Marshall fan does not, especially when other Herd fans bring it up.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) dismissed President Trump's claims that issues obtaining tests for the coronavirus had passed, telling an interviewer Tuesday that new tests developed in recent days had yet to be distributed to states around the country.

In an interview with NPR, Hogan said that Trump's assertion that shortages of coronavirus testing kits no longer existed was "just not true."

"President Trump is suggesting that the testing problems are over, they've been fixed. It's no longer an issue," NPR's Rachel Martin told Hogan.

"Yeah, that's just not true," Hogan responded. "I mean, I know that they've taken some steps to create new tests, but they're not actually created and distributed out to the states. No state has enough testing."

Hogan went on to praise members of the White House coronavirus task force, including the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease's Dr. Anthony Fauci, who Hogan said was giving accurate information in apparent contrast to information presented by Trump.

Why would they care about those deeply loyal to Trump. Those lunatics ain’t changing their mind over the Chinese virus which is a hoax put in place by the democrats and the MSM.

Where he should worry is swing states.
When was it said it was a hoax?
@AuthorTony and I are both from "deeply loyal to Trump" territory. We've both commented on the loyalists and them calling this a big hoax.

Also... TRIGGER WARNING GRUNTY!!!

Michael Savage has been absolutely excoriating Hannity and Limbaugh throughout this whole coronavirus pandemic. Basically railing on the point that not everything has to be either an attack on or praise of Trump and that people like Hannity tie EVERYTHING to politics which leads them to give damaging, possibly deadly information to their listeners.

Savage also has a doctorate and a master's in epidemiology so it's nice actually getting his insight into the virus stuff.

Asked on "Fox and Friends" Monday about the Kennedy Center's decision to stop pay for the orchestra despite the financial boost, President Trump pivoted to politics and said, "That's the way [the Democrats] play." He went on to call for viewers to vote against Democrats.

Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., told ABC News in a phone interview Monday that the stimulus bill did not dictate exactly how the money should spent, and she criticized the Kennedy Center's management for not conferring with employees before making their decision.
