Just caught up with all the posts here. Exactly what I expected from the “non-Trumpers” who spend an inordinate amount of time defending trump
Some ITT don’t know what the word defending means.

You should try using Merriam-Webster.
How many posts have you had in the past 24 hrs? Whatever it is, that’s the definition of defending
Cool. I thought it was actually standing by a something. Not saying you think they are corrupt and go ahead and impeach them (With the exception that I think it’s a terrible idea for the country politically wise).

Good to know you subscribe to the agree with my point of view 100% or you’re a defender view.

Not accepting criticism of one’s own beliefs and downplaying your “sides” discretions because Trump is worse is also a defense.

What does that have to do with you "non-Trump" people defending Trump?

That makes no sense.

I don't even know why I'm engaging right now.

The difference is I don’t insult or go out of my way to badger people. I post my disagreements of others opinion.

every headline in the world: Whistleblower claimed Trump abused office and white house officials tried to cover it up

nobody: wait a year and maybe vote him out
Proceed with the investigation. But using hyperbole or conjecture without getting all the facts from an investigation is not the way to do it.
being honest here, how do you proceed with the investigation when the Republicans have zero interest in proceeding with the instigation? I've been watching the Maguire hearing this morning and not 1 republican has even brought up details with the actual whistleblower complaint

First off. Don’t do these public circuses they call hearings. Everyone feels they “need” to get off their talking points. This should be done in private, and they should only provide factual updates (none of the “extremely serious” bullshit).

They don't. But it's all still horseshit.

By not participating in the proceeding, or acknowledging any wrong doing, they can paint the house impeachment hearings as partisan and illegitimate. This system of democracy is broken

The system is broken because the people in the system are broken. I still think having "professional" politicians is a bad move and I really wish the senate and house had term limits, but who knows.

It's been us vs them for far too long, when the reality is they are on the same team.

A government with and unending desire for increased scope can’t possibly govern successfully in perpetuity a 330MM+ (and growing) population.

That's a nice country you have there. Be a pity if anything bad happened to it.

if a guy who stormed a mosque and hunted muslims flashes it half ironically but 100% smugly at his court appearance, well...it's gonna become a thing.
