In more than 100 years of Anchorage history, weather stations have never recorded a single 90-degree reading. If current forecasts hold, it could happen multiple times in the coming days.

With the combined forces of climate change that has disrupted temperature trends around the state, a remarkable dearth of ice in the Bering Sea and weather patterns generating a general heat wave, Alaska is facing a Fourth of July unlike any before. Anchorage has canceled its fireworks display because of wildfire concerns, city officials are worrying about air quality and forecasters expect temperatures to rival those in Miami.

Yep, humans are not long for this planet.

But, no use even considering remedies because China and India.

An asteroid has more of a chance of completely wiping out the earth of humans than climate change.

“Wiping out the earth” isn’t the topic at hand.

Aside from trying to be a smarty pants, what’s the motivation for not advocating for fossil fuel reduction. And keep in mind, nobody on this message board is being asked to engineer renewable energy equipment. We’re just speaking conceptually.

So when's the tiny pecker parade?
The Salute to America, with music, military demonstrations, and flyovers by Air Force One and the Navy’s Blue Angels, along with the president’s remarks, is set to take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Trump told reporters there also will be tanks stationed near the memorial. At least 300 service members are scheduled to participate. An area in front of the memorial will be reserved for dignitaries, family and friends and will be accessible only through tickets distributed by the White House.

There’s nothing wrong with advocating for renewable energy, but while development is happening to make it cheaper to produce and store we should be using more fuel efficient fossil fuels. You have NY blocking reducing their carbon footprint by 30% or more because they don’t want natural gas pipelines. It’s lunacy. Take this reduction now while you are developing the technology for 20 years from now.

Not to mention the whole statement is laughably wrong.

I too do not fear asteroids. The obvious truth is that a weapon will be put into the hand of a yahoo and a trigger will be pulled. Fin.

Makes sense since neither one is at PIT anymore.

We still have the dinosaur, though.

It crushes me to see the rampant deforestation going on, especially in South America. Tremendously shortsighted and sheer greed.
