There is a guy in line 10' in front of me at the DMV right now with a boom box type thing playing gospel music that he is LOUDLY singing along with between bouts of reading bible verses and slurping a soda.

Seems more like a randomness post than political post... although, I suppose since it's happening "right now" it's current events?

Speaks to the culture of California, so seems appropriate.

Only if it's called "Silicone Valley" and includes random girl-on-the-street cleavage shots...

When you’re sniffing coke off of a street turd, threads will get all mixed up. It’s inevitable.

When I lived in Manhattan in the last 80's I had to walk by 3rd street on the way to work and it was affectionately known as "**** street". No one cleaned up after the dogs.

Like all those absolute DOPES that make Silicon Valley a thing, amirite???? hahahaha And pretty much all of the entertainment industry, what knuckleheads!!!! And the people that grow an enormous amount of the food we eat in this country: SCHMUCKS! And what about all those mental midgets in aerospace?!?! I mean, lol to the max. And all those absolute schmendricks in biotech and pharma. Such numbskulls. And the absolute dipshits in the manufacturing sector, that helps account for a higher GDP than the entire United Kingdom. I mean, pile on the stupids, right?

Oh, yeah, how could we all live without the entertainment industry, such as the people who brought us stuff like Jersey Shore and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo ? California is a great state. Unless you want to own a gun, or use a plastic straw, or eat foie gras, or not have you taxes fund a billion-dollar bullet train to nowhere, or not owe billions of dollars to fatcat government-worker unions, or not step on human sh!t or drug needles as you walk down the street. It does have beautiful scenery. When said scenery is not on fire or covered by mudslides, that is. And when the (overdue) next major earthquake hits, one will be able to see both of those at the same time.

Do I have to remind you that Cheney is a war monger so the Hypocrisy shines brightest on him.

I seem to recall Joe Biden playing some role in the Obama administration.

All kinds of good triggering in this piece.

Hypocrisy is a hell of a drug.
Do I have to remind you that Cheney is a war monger so the Hypocrisy shines brightest on him.
Remember when Joe Biden voted against the Iraq War? Oh, wait you mean he voted for it? No way!

"Warmonger" and "chicken hawk" are one-sided political terms that are just party-focused and mean nothing.

Don't try to pretend that the Iraq war was not driven by Cheney and the neo cons.
So Joe Biden was too dumb to see through the neocons?

Hopefully the GOP will show some spine here:

Congressional Republicans have begun discussing whether they may have to vote to block President Trump’s planned new tariffs on Mexico, potentially igniting a second standoff this year over Trump’s use of executive powers to circumvent Congress, people familiar with the talks said.

The vote, which would be the GOP’s most dramatic act of defiance since Trump took office, could also have the effect of blocking billions of dollars in border wall funding that the president had announced in February when he declared a national emergency at the southern border, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks are private.

Governor Coonman Klansman another in a long line of gun-grabber politicians who are aggressively ignorant of existing laws and the fact his proposals would not have stopped any of the mass shootings in the recent past. The guns used were purchased years apart and he passed several background checks, including for the job he quit.
Va. Gov. Ralph Northam is recalling lawmakers to push for gun control legislation after the Va. Beach shooting that includes universal background checks, an "assault weapons" ban, a suppressor ban, and a ban on bump stocks.

I'm going out on a limb here, but did we get like 75% approval on the 5th Ave Firearms Legislation?

Suppressors become legal
National Concealed Carry reciprocity (I wanted a mandatory firearms class, but I think there was a worry about it becoming restrictive)

in exchange for
Universal Background checks
Overhauling the reporting system with mikey's help to make reporting disqualifying conditions more uniform and streamlined.
The previous Mental Health regulations reinstated, and convicted domestic abusers being disqualified from firearms purchases nationally (there are still holes in the existing law that need closed, such as T.R.O. and P.R.O. against boyfriends/grilfriends as opposed to spouses).
