Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo says his department will stop serving "no knock" search warrants, weeks after a raid on a house left two married suspects dead and five officers injured. Acevedo also reiterated that the officer who led that raid may face criminal charges.
"The no-knock warrant's going to go away, kind of like leaded gasoline in our city," Acevedo said. He added that raids that stem from those warrants would only be used in very limited cases — and that they would not be used to nab people suspected of dealing small amounts of drugs.
"You're going to see those going away," he said.

To be fair, they did just announce that today and I sorta forgot about it. And the motive, while leading to a laudable goal, is a little squidgy.
That said, Space Force isn't 100% stupid.

You all won’t, but really (definitely) should watch that interview with Lara Logan of CBSNews. Tells you a lot about the sad state of the media these days.

I'm reading 40+ percent of Americans believe that the Rapture will occur within the next 40 years. That's a typo, right? Right ...?

Pretty sure it’s wishful thinking. That’s the only way most of them will see an end to their credit card and student loan debt.I'm reading 40+ percent of Americans believe that the Rapture will occur within the next 40 years. That's a typo, right? Right ...?

Would you say more or less people believe in the rapture than believers 40 years ago?

Yes, she's a sad member of the media, who helped perpetuate conservative conspiracy theories on Benghazi, now attempting to get a job since her contract with CBS wasn't renewed. You all won’t, but really (definitely) should watch that interview with Lara Logan of CBSNews. In discussing this somewhere else I noted that there will likely be a rise in occurrence of small forfeitures that are too small to litigate. If you take $600 from someone on the street they probably can't hire an attorney to get it back. Now how long before **** departments that basically fund 60% of their operating budget through seizures start complaining wildly.
I'm okay with the taking if it is subsequent to a conviction. Due process was served. But anything short of a guilty plea and it should be hands off.

That Timbs ruling is heartwarming. Nice to see all justices come together to smack something down. Thomas' concurring opinion is an interesting read.
