Just think of the increased efficiencies, if all roads were funded by tolls and user fees.

Would they also be able to use said GPS tracking to book you for speeding?
I'm sure they could. Don't some car rental companies do that now?
The car rental companies doing that are of dubious legality. Consumers have successfully sued car rental companies over fines levied from GPS data.

I've learned from experience to ask the doctor if they charge extra for any extra care.

Example: My son had a bad reaction to amoxicillin, and the doc prescribed baby benedryl. They said they could give him a dose right then and there, but my first reaction was no, thinking they would charge for it. I then asked if it would be an extra charge, to which they said no.

It would be understandable if they did charge for the benedryl, but there's no menu, no price tag on anything. On top of that, who knows how much and what is covered by insurance until a bill comes in the mail 3 weeks later.

And I really don't think offering any type of menu would make it any better. I'd end up being more like Avyran and refuse due to the absurd prices.

It's like going to a very fancy, expensive restaurant. If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.
Yeah, and there's two variables - cost of item and amount insurance covers. I took my daughter to an allergy doctor for a consult. He did a few things then said he was going to do an endoscopy. I just thought it was part of the exam. Nope, turns out it was a "surgery" and was billed as such. Partly my fault for not asking about it, but I also would've appreciated if the doctor said it wasn't part of the regular exam and that it may or may not be covered.

Suspicious in that it should only be possible to do that in specially modified DeLoreans.

Whitesboro is also located entirely within the borders of Whitestown. :scared:

My father was from Whitesboro, and I spent many summers at my grandparents' house there. If anyone is ever near there, Hapanowicz Bros. Meat Market (http://www.hapanowiczbros.com/) in nearby New York Mills has excellent food. Try the ham salad.

Yeah, Tillman's gotta go.

My alma mater (Clemson) has a significant building named for him, as well. A student group tried to have it changed just this last school year.

An interesting question is where do they stop with removing these memorials? I don't have an answer for that one.

We need to know up front what the total costs are for trips to the doctor and really anything having to do with treatment.

I broke my hand last year and ended up needing surgery. The initial amount I was given was reasonable. And then it tripled because my HRA was drained and I didn't meet my deductible. And then 3 months later they gave me the projected bill to get the pin out they put in which was never even discussed. If I had been presented the total cost of everything up front I probably would have saved thousands and just had a cast put on and hope for the best. I think if people also knew how much things really cost before insurance that might help drive costs down.

Between that and allowing health plans to cross state lines would be a step in helping consumers.

Right now consumers are kept in the dark by the insurance and healthcare people. The idea is that we're better off letting the industry professionals handle the tough stuff for the customer. And in doing that, with no checks on their activity, costs have blown up. Insurance has little incentive to push down costs because the higher costs are pushed back on the customer in the form of higher premiums.

To me, the basic supply demand economics that are messed up, you combine inelastic demand with unknowledgeable customers, you get this.

Jeb Bush has a solution to our economic woes:
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush on Wednesday seemed to propose a bold solution for economic troubles: “People should work longer hours,” drawing negative reactions from critics who suggested the last thing Americans need is to work more.

YouGov specialises in market research through online methods. The company’s methodology involves obtaining responses from an invited group of internet users, and then weighing these responses in line with demographic information. It draws these demographically-representative samples from a panel of 3 million people worldwide including over 600,000 people in the UK.[6] As YouGov's online methods use no field-force, its costs are lower than some face-to-face or telephone methods.

If both Trump and Christie make the first debate, I predict that they will knock themselves out of serious contention as each tries to out-aggro the other. One stage can only contain so much cok swinging before something gives.

Yaaa, he's taking heat for that. But primarily because he didn't say it well. He meant that the government needs to do something so that the underemployed can make more money. i.e. Someone willing to work full time but can only get a part time gig that offers them 20-30 hours a week.

Ole Jeb meant that getting those people "longer hours" will boost the economy. But it does seem out of touch when you read the quote alone...
