Why is there so much interest in Judge testifying? Is the thought that he would reverse himself under questioning and admit that the supposed attack happened? Or is the goal to attack his credibility as a known alcoholic?
Kavanaugh says he was a perfect gentleman, Judge tells stories that the group was not. If BK is lying about how clean cut he was, about how drunk he didn’t get, or his behavior as a drunk, it brings a lot of things into question. If the 7/1 or 7/7 entries are correct as well, it very well could put Dr Ford at a party they all previously denied she could be at.

It still doesn’t mean he did it, but he would not be a very honorable man and probably shouldn’t sit on the Court.

this July 1 thing that has seemingly become a big talking point
The date, and the people mentioned, could be seen to corroborate Ford's account.

Why bother investigating? We’ve got a vote to get done.

So she would forget her ex boyfriend was there?

Why bother coming forward right away? We can delay a vote?

He is a boorish liar and likely an alcoholic. Regardless of these accusations, his character is not what I personally would like to see on the Supreme Court.

In comparison, I have very little good to say about Gorsuch's ideology - but I have nothing bad to say about his character.

What makes you think Judge would say any of that?

You would probably want Nicolás Maduro on the Supreme Court.

Yeah, she waited 36 years for just this moment. If you don’t understand what prevents people from coming forward after facing sexual assault, I don’t know what to tell you.

Nah. If we're going to include foreign-born candidates, I'd probably pick Obama.

I see you don’t want to address my other comment about July 1st.

One thing is for certain, today did not go as Democrats had hoped.

Not talking about her. Talking about the party of women's rights sits on it until the time was perfect, bit weve all been over this 100 times.

Yup, makes no sense to wait until they did to just derail a vote. They could have scuttled the nomination from the beginning by coming out awhile ago.

Given the fact that it was set up to be nothing but a sham hearing, and everyone knew it, today went just about as expected.

See this way there's no time left to nominate another conservative. Another thing that we've been over 100 times.

He’s going to be confirmed, so that is irrelevant.

Also, I’d love to know how that all fot together so well, and how they got Ford to go along with the scheme.

If you think Mitch McConnell will not confirm a SC justice in a lame duck session, well who's being naive now, Kay?

In terms of credibility, I found the advantage to be skewed to Ford. And yes, I know part of that is partisanship. However, the much bigger part is that Kavanaugh came across as the type of person I really don’t like and find douchy. He was bombastic at times, and just jerky at others. And yes, being wrongly accused of this would certainly bring out emotion. However, it’s been out a long time and he’s spoken about it in calm ways before, so this came across as more of a show. He was Trumpy. And using your kid as a prop... c’mon. Does that mean he did it? Certainly not. But he came across as less credible to me.

I can tell you right now, if I had daughters on the edge of their teenage years, and I was in front of the world defending myself from being called a serial rapist, I sure as hell would be irate. I actually thought he measured himself well given the boiling internal rage he must have been feeling. The comments about his "disposition" IMO are absurd. His disposition has ALWAYS been viewed as sterling by his colleagues, and his career has been spotless. But because he gets pissed off that yes, one party is trying to destroy his life and career, he needs to be reserved and calm? Please.
