It's only worked in countries with small populations and an abundance of natural resources. It's not a quality of people issue.

But no, Americans on the average are no better than anyone else.

Socialism stands about as much a chance of success in the US as Libertarianism.

Yeah but Socialism is great. The other places just didn't do it right. It'll work in America.
So Americans are no better than anyone else. Our people can't do something better than anyone else. Other people failed at something so we will definitely fail at said thing. If, that is, "it didn't work anywhere else" is your defense.

I'm not saying socialism would work here, i don't really think it would, I'm just saying that perticular argument doesn't hold much water.
To be fair there isn't one right solution for as large of a population as there currently is. There will always be groups that suffer. That said, a new plague might not be the worst...

No because then rich people just hoard money and don't redistribute wealth....duuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh. Oh and people that get doctorates in philosophy can't get a realistic income.

You can make the claim that an inordinate amount of wealth is controlled by a small number of people but not be for big S Socialism...

There's a balance that can be found between the ideal situation and the one that we have now. I'm not an economist or in any way educated on how that would be done, but I can tell you that cutting taxes on the rich ain't the way to go.

Taking other people's ****? Yeah, we can do that. In fact, I believe we'll do it better than anyone has ever done it before. I think we'll be so successful at it that people will starve because of it. I think we'll be so good at it that we'll be the next country to completely discredit that morally bankrupt ideology that it may even take more than just the 2 generations that it seems to have taken to rejuvenate itself this time.

I know, my Shrug. I know what you're thinking, because I thought it myself. There's some countries out there on the edge of the bell-curve that "prove" that "it" can "work"... Extenze can make your dick bigger, too. There's just a science to it. You can either buy the snake oil, or you can do the work.

How does cutting taxes for the rich help the issue of income inequality/few people controlling the vast majority of the wealth?

Police say they have arrested a man at a New Mexico compound who was training children to commit school shootings.

Cincinnati police officers used a Taser on an 11-year-old girl accused of stealing from a supermarket.

Seems reasonable.

It's an 11 year old girl. They probably could have just talked to her like an adult/human being.

So do you care to address my question or are you just going to be a condescending prick about this?

Just asking, so I don't waste either of our time.

We should actually applaud the officers for not putting 14 in her back (assume they'd overkill her).

They tried, but she resisted and fled.

I'm just having a hard time seeing the controversy here. Laugh all you want about hating kids, whatever. But the department guidelines say 7 to 70 year olds are taserable. She fell within the guidelines, ignored verbal commands, and was apprehended using non-lethal force. It seems like it's the correct outcome in light of police initiated fatalities that have been scrutinized so much recently.

If you opt to just let her go what return is the public getting on their tax dollars for a police force? "Sorry, you're too cute to arrest, carry on with your backpack full of other peoples stuff."

First, this thread is LITERALLY NOTHING without people being condescending pricks. Literally nothing.

Second, I contest the presumption that raising taxes actually equates with equalizing income.

Third, I oppose the idea that wealth should be normalized.

I've been making these arguments for years.

If a cop can't outrun (read: catch) an 11 year old maybe they shouldn't be a patrol officer...

I still (and I'm not joking) not sure why no one has bothered to create a "gun" that fires a giant net. Eleven year old stealing Eggos - net. Possibly mean dog wandering a neighborhood - net. Mentally ill man with a lead pipe - net.

Yes, if a cop can't restrain an 11 year old without a taser, then he should be sent back to cop school.

Yes. And I've never heard you say it specifically but a lot of what I hear from people is "America #1 we're so awesome!!" and then "that wouldn't work here because other countries couldn't do it". Those 2 things don't compute to me. Again, not saying that is your opinion.

There are a lot of reasons why it wouldn't work here. Other countries failing doesn't seem to be a good one though...
