TikTok is a different animal. It's not that it collects information so much as it is that primarily does so s 3rd party networks even if users are not opted-in for such sharing. (Many apps use 3rd party networks, but TikTok does so almost exclusively, and it's harder to track the 'end customer' of user data when it's shielded like that.) So even without the connection to the Chinese government, it's more dodgy than the average bear. When you do account for the fact that the Chinese government can compel sharing of all user data sort of on demand it's sort of weird that the app ever made it on to Google Play and the App Store in the first place.

If this passes, the GOP should run a commercial targeted at young voters that just says "Joe Biden took TikTok away from you."

If this passes and Biden signs it, it will 100% be used against him in the fall. If I was him, I wouldn’t sign it. I’d let it sit for 10 days and become law without a signature.

Nothing would happen to TikTok that quickly, because the law would quickly be challenged in court, and I can guarantee that litigation (which I think the fedgov would likely lose in the end) would certainly stretch long past the election.

One of the morning shows I was listening to yesterday indicated there's now data that indicates that. Trump was the "outsider" in 2016, and that appealed to a bubble group that helped form his bloc. Now folks of that ilk see him as more of the same, so they're looking for a new drug, and it seems rfk minor fits that bill. It doesn't have to be a lot of people when margins are like 10,000 votes in states w 15 million people. So while they thought he was helpful two months ago, now they're actively trying to keep him off ballots.

Yeah, it's an amusing dynamic. For them to be actively courting low-propensity voters and yet still adamant on voting restrictions. They just haven't fully reconciled their positions with their new base.

Just kind of over shooting on some things, and undershooting on other. Kind of like the democrats overshooting their center-right pivot with their unwavering support of Israeli atrocities. Stop watching neocons on Morning Joe and talk to a normal person, no one wants this.

Authorities said Thursday’s shooting involved two men who police have not identified and who got into a confrontation, and then a physical fight, aboard the moving train just before 4:45 p.m.

One of the men, who police said was 36, pulled out a gun and brandished it. The other man, 32, got possession of the handgun and fired at the person he was arguing with, according to Michael Kemper, the Police Department’s chief of transit.

Watched the video last night. The dude who eventually pulls the gun was obviously the aggressor from the start. The other dude's girlfriend stabs him from behind while he's fighting her boyfriend. That's when the original aggressor very awkwardly gets a gun out of his jacket. Video below. You don't actually see the gun being fired or death, but you do see the blood on the guy's back after being stabbed and hear the gun shots.

Impossible. That shooting obviously never happened and is clearly fake news because New York post-Bruen declared all of the subways a "sensitive location" and banned all guns and carry. So it would be impossible for anyone to have a gun on the subway because there's a law that says you can't.
