If I got sick I probably would, but that's only because I have the luxury of working from home and, let's be honest, if I have that option I'm 100% going to take it lol.

Our work policy still identifies close contacts and we have to test at 5 days and wear a mask for 10 days even if negative.

And I will say your city brothers and sisters did not exhibit what I would call an overabundance of urgency in vacating the area in the one video I saw. Almost like they didn't realize it was an active shooter situation.

I'd imagine there's some sort of like... social cognitive dissonance at play there. You're at a large gathering born out of a celebration. You here loud noises, there's probably some sort of "must be good --- brain won't even entertain the notion of traumatic horror." Like an elective defense or something. Idk.

I just saw one report that the police are looking at the possibility this was a dispute between attendees and they went all Yosemite Sam. That's....... in the middle of 800 armed cops with that heavy media presence.

There's nothing concrete in the local media. It's hard to believe that somebody would bring an extended mag to a parade as self defense, but bad guys gonna bad guy. It does sound like it was old fashioned testosterone and alcohol fueled dispute that boiled over...whether that's also related to gang activity or not is still unknown.

Being local in this case might actually be worse. Because as of yesterday evening there were three separate crime scenes. One to the west of the stage which you can see in the aerial footage where people are dispersing. But then last night they also had a second area east of the fountain marked off and people in the hotel across the street were told to shelter in their rooms at 3:30 (90 minutes after the original incident), when the police were already giving a briefing starting to say the situation was contained. Word at the time was Crown Center police had exchanged fire in the parking garage there as well.

As for the slow dispersal, pyrotechnics are pretty common for us, so I think people that weren't in the immediate vicinity figured it was just fireworks. So you've got a central core of less than 100 people that knew they were gunshots scattering, and the rest is just ripples of people leaving half heartedly because they can't believe what's happened and think the other people are overreacting to fireworks. In some small manner, that slow ripple effect was probably helpful to avoid a stampede. Two kids are at CMH that apparently were hurt in the escape, because they're not listed as GSWs. It could have been much more if full panic set in. Or maybe the simpler explanation is that everybody was hammered and had slow reactions

Right, but even in that video you see a lot of people just standing there clueless.
