The older I get, the higher I think the voting age should be. I'd make the voting age for a certain office also be the minimum age for that office. So for federal elections, you can vote for House members when you hit 25, Senators when you're 30, and President when you're 35.

Seems like voting ages are going down across the world, not up.

I'm still just all about term limits for elected officials. How about we keep the voting age as is, but allow for a referendum on our elected officials. Regardless of the age, it seems like we do nothing but vote in garbage people into a worse system...and they stay there until they die...the results have been bad.

Tie that to gun ownership and you could negotiate. But I bet it starts and stops there.

Since we’re on the subject… old people shouldn’t get to vote either. Once you’re over 65, you’re done. You shouldn’t get a say on the future direction of the country. You won’t be here.

We have the oldest politicians in the world because for some reason in this country we value “experience” over actual brain power. Considering we already do that, changing the voting age to suit older people makes about zero sense

I'd like to be there when a 65 year-old c2i rethinks this question.

Meanwhile, the drafter of the HEROES Act filed an amicus brief saying the cancellation action meets the legislative intent of that law.

Yeah… I’m actually in favor of open voting with as little barrier as possible.

Yeah, but that was probably a democrat, we need to hear "both sides"

Yep. The arguments for raising the age are ludicrous, too. You can die for your country, but how dare you think you should be able to vote for your commander in chief.

Looking around today, observing the landscape of human interaction, and seeing age as a factor in assessing someone's aptitude is very on point.

There are so many more critical variables to determine just how unsuited a given person is for voting in an election.

I'm cool with seniors getting to vote as long as they own a therapy gun.
