I am actually with MiMH on this one. At what point do they break from Trump? Or did they commit so much insanity, they all have to go down with the ship? I feel like any other person they'd have cut bait years ago.

I think my answer to these goes hand in hand, but my perception is that it's not an inherent love for Trump, but a deluded belief in anti-governmet, government corruption, "socialism", and whatever other nonsense God related stuff that Trump aligned himself on the other side of. He's a corrupt, narcissistic piece of **** garbage ass pile of diarrhea person, but to these idiots he's telling the truth and the government is targeting him to shut him up, essentially turning the entire thing into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

IMO, most anyone who ardently supports him is a brainwashed lunatic, are probably too far gone to change, and something bad happening in response wouldn't surprise me at all.

I don't know if conviction under this act automatically disqualifies a defendant for holding U.S. office like some other offenses. (I think one of the potentially related charges carries this penalty) Either way, I don't think the matter will be brought to trial and concluded before the 2024 election. So he could run for and be elected to office while defending this charge. (I don't know if conviction would automatically remove him from office, or if he could continue to serve while in the hoosegow)
