I just hope he dies. All of that anger and McD's can't be good for someone his age.

I can see Liz Cheney running for the sole purpose of going after Trump to prevent him from winning. I don't see DeSantis having the guts to go after Trump.

Think of the alternate timeline we'd be on right now if Trump died of Covid instead of the Walter Reed parade with secret service.

I like Kinzinger. It's a shame him and Cheney are ruining their careers just by doing the right thing

in whatever reality trump tries to run for president again, there's a 0.0% chance he wins, regardless if its against biden
Yes, Trump will get far fewer votes. But, as we've seen, it's the electoral college that determines the winner, and this whole thing is in motion to manipulate how that result is determined/certified.

The Supreme Court is about to grant state legislators the absolute authority for overseeing elections in their respective states, no federal oversight, no authority in state courts.

There are grass roots efforts in place to train poll watchers, who are going to be trained in how to dispute votes on-site and these efforts will obviously be targeted in democratic precincts.

I mean, this is effectively it, the GOP is no longer interested in the electoral process, their idiot base is convinced that it's "rigged" so the only thing to do is to try and re-rig it in their favor.

There is really no stopping this, as far as I can tell, the only thing preventing this from happening sooner, is the rust belt holding in 2022, because if the governor's fall in MI, WI and PA, there is no ability to stop republican led efforts to rig those state elections.

My guess is the Dems will continue their push of memes from all the hearings, not do anything else and then wonder why they got **** and then tell us all to vote in the next election.

There really isn't anything they can do. The Trump **** is basically officially sanctioned conduct from the GOP. So what, there are four ways to combat the republicans right? Legislation (can't do with the filibuster), Justice department (won't do anything that is deemed political), the media (operates under the two-party framework and horse-race politics), and the electoral system (holding power merely to prevent the republicans from completely usurping the government).

The Democratic party, with it's current center of power is fundamentally incapable of combatting this current republican party movement. The only way to course correct is for a bloc within the republican party to obtain enough strength to retake leadership of the party and realign with our current institutional structure.

Elections are going to get more violent and contentious on the current path, so while this status quo can hold for this cycle, assuming republicans take the house, they aren't going to accept losing (the democrats will), it breaks in 2024 with Trump running.

I cannot bring myself to believe that pissbaby doesn't have a better than 50% shot at winning in 2024.

More worrisome that DeSantis'd probably have an even better chance.

It makes sense though. Everybody knows who Trump is and will head out to the polls to make sure we don't have to deal with him for 4 more years. DeSantis doesn't have that same name recognition and won't inspire the same reaction from his opposition.

"Vote and donate" to help win back the house/senate because when we had it this time, we could do NOTHING!

Ya'll remember how the Dems weren't supposed to win the Senate in 2020? Well, with Manchin and Sinema, they really didn't. Once you recognize that both of them are only registered Democrats because they're centrists that don't prescribe to GQP BS, the current deadlock makes life much less stressful.

Given the GOP is more effective as a minority than the Dems are as a majority I have a very hard time letting the Dems slide.

This, GOP is very good at either stalling progression, or passing laws in their favor. Strategically they appear miles ahead of Dems.

Since the only thing republicans want to do is crash the government, they can pass damn near anything they want through reconciliation and only need 51 votes. It's why repealing the ACA was possible. It's a whole lot easier to strip people of rights than to guarantee them.

Imagine having voted for this incompetent **** moron.
And.......... he picked up voters between '16 and '20. People went through the entirety of his presidency, including the first year of COVID, and were like Oliver f**king Twist saying "Please, sir. I want some more."
