I would expect PA to ban abortion if another republican is voted in as governor:

On the heels of their greatest victory, antiabortion activists are eager to capitalize on their momentum by enshrining constitutional abortion bans, pushing Congress to pass a national prohibition, blocking abortion pills, and limiting people’s ability to get abortions across state lines.

At the National Association of Christian Lawmakers conference in Branson, Mo., on Friday several dozen state legislators from across the country brainstormed ideas — all in agreement that their wildly successful movement would not end with Roe v. Wade.

“It’s not over,” said Oklahoma state Rep. Todd Russ (R), who attended the conference. At this point, Russ said, the ideas are like “popcorn in a popcorn popper.”

Oh, that's a 100% certainty.

PA House/Senate want a PA constitutional amendment to disallow the courts from having any say in the issue. If that passes it would be a state referendum for the voters to decide and no doubt be done in an off year presidential election. PA governor has no say in a constitutional amendment and can't veto it.

Glad to see some democrat stepping up against the dumb "go vote so we can fix this!" and fundraising impulses.

The problem is, it's AOC saying it, and people have already made up their minds about her. None of them are going to be affected by what she is (rightfully and truthfully) saying.

A lot of people accuse Republicans of “trying to control women’s bodies” by banning abortion, but I don’t think that’s it at all. I think they’re legitimately stupid enough to consider abortion murder but then not concern themselves with the welfare of the child once it leaves the womb

It’s all this medieval interpretation of the Bible where rather than jesus being a forgiving, understanding person, he is an autocratic degeneracy-preventing guardian

I dont think you're giving the insidiousness of the religious fanaticism within the party enough credit.

They know exactly what they're doing.

It looks like a close race for now which is good for Ryan.

Vance has a lunatic persona.

That's right, it's not about controlling just their bodies.

I just can’t see how it’s about control. There’s a segment of the far right that is pro-abortion because it “keeps the minority’s populations down” and banning abortion is absolutely gonna galvanize the left politically. They’re doing it because of a misguided moral belief

There's all sorts of reasons. I agree, probably the biggest is that it's "murder." I think another big one is that this is theoretically the party of consequence: you made a decision now you live with it.

Post would have played much better if she didn't try to drag individual justices through the mud IMO. First few points were pretty reasonable. Once she went after Thomas and those "credibly accused" of sexual assault it just became another partisan bone
