I think we got like 8-10 inches or so. Just shoveled out our huge driveway and sidewalk ..my back is not pleased

I'd love to find a decent snowblower that isn't like 1k.
I have a plug in electric that does well up to 5 inches or so. No maintenance, just go out and run it like a vacuum every few inches.
Link?

Several on my marketplace feed last night for $4-500. Find one used. Now is not the time to buy though lol

Finished shoveling about 30 minutes ago. Now it’s snowing again. Damnit, shad.

Had to go over spots twice because of depth, but I borrowed from my dad who was leaving on vacation. It was money.

Also our street has been plowed steadily by the road crews ..streets around us are all clear too. No complaints there at all.
It normally takes the city 2-3 days to get to my street. I even had to put in a 311 request last year. Last night and today no less than 5 trucks have came through. Thanks Gainey!

Lot of snow. I went in yesterday to help our grounds team with snow removal. Tiring work, but the double time and a half pay is going to be sweet.

We're now forecasted to get 1-3" of snow/ice on Friday, and another 3-5" of snow Friday night- Saturday morning.

I really, really hate ice storms. No issue with the little bit of snow we do get, but the ice can **** off. Seven hours without power was enough for me the other day.

yep, we're having something here in ATL too. oddly, my COVID exposure did NOT get me out of Snow & Ice duty. I worked overnight Fri, Sat and Sun. my boss asked if I had symptoms and when I (stupidly) said no he said he'd need me to report. looks like we'll be doing it again this weekend. kind of crazy how they'll be expecting us (with our regular jobs) to work 14 days in a row.

I've had it for 8 years. Bought it when I moved from NC to WI. Not sure if they make it anymore but this is it:

Snow Joe Ultra SJ620 18-Inch 13.5-Amp Electric Snow Thrower

This is the newer and slightly beefier model, 1.5 extra HP:

Snow Joe SJ623E 18-Inch 15-Amp Electric Single Stage Snow Thrower w/Headlights
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008FV5R2C/

At that price I'd consider it a steal.

-4F on Friday? Sure that won't be an issue what with all the runoff from the rapidly melting snow.

I’m in Charlotte and it’s a mess here. My sisters fiancé totaled his car driving here from Asheville. My brother and sister went to pick him up and they said there are a lot of car crashes. I’m amazed they made it safely

Had to explain to my 3 year old what a negative number meant. I don’t think she got it, but that’s okay.

The imperial measurement system is dumb. At least negative Celsius means something. Negative Fahrenheit is just a number.

Kelvin is measured on absolute temperatures (zero is as low as you go)
Celsius is based on water.
Fahrenheit is based on danger to humans being outside.

They all have their place.

We got about 3". Everything is frozen over this morning, and probably will be until early afternoon. We had yesterday off, well remote for me and eLearning for the kids - and the storm didn't start until well after dark. I'll take it.

Current miserable weather prompted me to look at the long term. Accuweather is saying an early spring, how reliable is that? Early spring meaning February is consistently projected to be in the 40’s then going to the 50’s in March, which is what they are forecasting

My first competitive golf tournaments are in Charleston, WV in mid-March. Not sure if that is optimistic or not, seems early. But I could use an early spring.

Pretty darn unreliable.
