This is a weather buoy forty miles off the coast of the Mexican border. Water temperature over 70, air temperature 36. Crazy.

In NC on the coast they would pretreat with brine and then just wait out the melt. Took a few days during a particularly bad snow for is on 2013.

Looks like we may not get any snow in Beaver County. Gonna be a hell of a lot of ice in the morning though.

Soooooo satisfying to roll down the window and just push the 1/16" ice sheet off the car.

Saw our Letter Carrier this morning while out salting the drive:

Letter Carrier: Good Morning
Me: Good morning, how are you?
Letter Carrier: Soon as I'm done today I'm looking for a new job!

-11 and we've got rolling blackouts in KC.
Can't complain, Omaha/Lincoln is -30 and going through the same thing.

We had heavy rain and thunderstorms last night, but the sun is out for the first time in days. Coastal NC - south of Wilmington @dodint - had tornadoes that killed three. Ugh.

I’m certainly thankful that my weather was perfect for my drive from Phoenix. Saw the video yesterday of the big pileup outside El Paso and shuddered a little.

Insanity. I can't even remember the last time we were below zero in Lancaster County.

Same here.

I had to build "dry ground" for my chickens because they were constantly wet on the ground. Thankfully this sun will clear that out a bit before it rains again tomorrow/Thursday.

Stupid question but why don't houses have insulation in Texas etc?

Wouldn't you also want to keep the heat OUT?
