Dew point has a wayyy bigger effect on comfort than temperature in the summer. As rare as it is around here, an 85 degree day with dews in the 50s feels great

This summer has flat out sucked. Just nonstop heat and humidity. I get it... It's summer, but we used to occasionally get cold fronts that would usher in a day or two of refreshing drier air. I think the dew point has hit 70 almost every day in July and there's no end in sight.

Nights have sucked too. You're lucky if it gets below 70.

I'm ready for fall, or at least late August and September when we start getting some cooler nights.

That sentiment applies to so, so many things these days.

Yeah every night I go outside and end up soaking wet doing trivial tasks.

Beautiful low humidity day today. 88 degrees at the soccer fields but felt incredible.

Mrs. Franchise was complaining on the patio that it was chilly... at 71 degrees. More like this pls.

Dewpoint 61.

You’d never be able to handle a Florida summer. That’s every day from about late April to early November. That’s why I try to get as many tournaments as possible during summer so I can escape for a week. I was in Minnesota last week and while we had a couple of days of sticky, the reward was porch beers with friends on Sunday night and it was mid 60s with zero humidity. This week - Memphis and it’s the surface of the sun with lightning potential every day.

Whoever decided on a Memphis golf tournament in July/August should face a firing squad

This stop is ALWAYS in the worst of the summer. It used to be the week before the US Open. Last year, it was the week after the British Open. If things had been normal, it would have been 4th of July weekend. Only time they should play in Memphis is the fall but since FedEx is involved and it’s now a WGC, it’s gonna get played in a summer month.

TBH, the temperature is not supposed to be that bad over the next few days. The much bigger concern is a pretty pronounced risk of storms.

Encouraging stuff from the Euro, although there's no way in hell Philly is not going above 83 for a whole week in August. Still, looks like a pattern shift will finally come.

Sun angle is already down to where it was on May 14th, and we've lost 40 minutes of daylight since the solstice. Over the next month, those changes will become even more noticeable. Years are flying by man.

Well, in case 2020 hasn't sucked enough, we're already on our potentially ninth named storm of the tropical season. This one looks like it will scoot right up Florida:

Looks like it will stay east of Florida and brush the OBX early next week. We are getting down there next Friday.
