My dog is now asleep in my wife's electric blanket. I set it on it's lowest setting and now she's sacked out. The great storm of Feb 15, 2018 is now a faint memory. We survived; persevered.

getting lightning and thunder tonight. Was running downstairs and had a huge flash that lit up my living room followed by a boom nearby.

It's about time we got all this rain. My car was getting nice and crusty from all the salt, and needed a good rinse.

It does the job until spring, when I can turn the water to the outside spigot back on.

Have no fear, they're calling for a spit of snow tonight so I'm sure they'll empty the salt mines at the end of my driveway.

I have a spigot in the garage so I just hose the cars off in there if it goes too long. But the GetGo car wash is also open year round so my laziness usually takes over and I do that instead.

I don't like paying for a car wash, so I rarely go through them.

First time I took the Delorean through that wash I forgot it doesn't have paint on the body and I paid for the hot wax. Now it has spots all over it. Buh.

How much does that thing weigh? It's all stainless, right?

2700lbs.

It's an I-frame with a fiberglass tub bolted to it, and then stainless panels hung on that. It has the same amount of metal body as any car from that era, except the insides are made of lower weight fiberglass.

Though I think Corvettes are made of plastic or something so I can see how there would be an expectation that the DMC is heavy. ;)

Interesting, I thought it'd be higher than that. :thumb:

I was at the BMW dealer on Baum Blvd picking up my car (Takata airbag recall) on Wednesday and was talking to my service coordinator. We both have classic cars so the DMC came up, and he said "That thing weighs like 4,000lbs, right?" so it's a common misconception.

I just tell them there's a problem with the earth's gravitational pull...

The bodies? I think so, and perhaps started in 80s

Me too. I got 12 free car washes from the dealer when I leased my car three years ago and I just used the last one a month ago. Now I replaced that car with another new one from the same dealer and got 12 free washes again, w00t.

P&W was the single worst dealership I have ever dealt with. It sucks that its the only dealership that is reasonably accessible for people in the city or north. Granted, this was over ten years ago so maybe they've improved. Good experience?
