I think about that every time I see a video of people wading through waist deep water after tropical storms, etc. As a kid it definitely looked fun.

You're in the Philly area, right?

I'm seeing on twitter, NY folks felt one.

Yep, north of Philly. Shook the house a little, and I initially thought it was a helicopter flying really low over the house due to the rumble.

I felt it out here in Lancaster County. That was wild.

Why do people post about earthquakes in this thread? Earthquakes aren't weather.

Nothing on this side of the state but my coworker is out near Philly and we were talking on teams and out of nowhere she said..."I think we just had an earthquake".

The National Weather Service uses its communication network to send out emergency bulletins related to quakes and tsunamis, so maybe you should write a citation-laden letter to them about the impropriety of consolidating discussions of natural phenomena.

I'm in Hatfield. My home office is in the basement so maybe that was why.

Possibly, as you're really not that far from me.

My family felt it in Williamsport.

I didn't notice anything out here in almost Ohio.

Also since earthquakes are not weather but a sign from God to repent, this probably belongs in the religion thread. Also please put upcoming eclipse talk there.

Apparently there was just a bit of an aftershock. Daughter and wife both felt it while I was gaming.

NASA's doing a live stream event, cool to have on in the background if you're not sitting on a lawn chair enjoying the day somewhere:
