We left Pittsburgh at about 8 AM...I couldn't believe how bad a lot of the streets were coming out of town. Forbes was a mess. At the big curve where you can either go left to take 22 or go right to the turnpike in Monroeville, it was a sheet of ice. Two cars had already spun out and there was a cop there desperately trying to warn people to slow down.

In general the streets within the city limits are often the worst. Being as cold as it was today after all the precipitation didn't help either making everything ice again.

It takes forever for crews to get to surface roads within the city. I have no evidence to back this up, but I’m pretty sure my street is last on the priority list. I always have to put in a service request to get a plow to drive down.We left Pittsburgh at about 8 AM...I couldn't believe how bad a lot of the streets were coming out of town. Forbes was a mess. Yup, every time it snows:
I don't get it either. Roads in pretty good. Hey we're the city... everything is ****I'll never understand how downtown looks like a logging road through Siberia and then as soon as you get out the roads are dry. They should put plows on the buses and kill two birds with one stone.Holy **** pittsburgh. Put some ducking salt on Penn Ave

My neighborhood road (off of Burchfield) is immaculate at all times. A councilman or something most live on my road. It gets a plow about every 2-3 hours during a snow. Meanwhile Rt. 8 is a sled dog trail.

The excuse was many plow and salt truck drivers called off over the weekend. I'm not buying it, because the city has always been horrible when it comes to snow removal.lol the city of Pittsburgh doesn't care about the City on the weekend. We left Pittsburgh at about 8 AM...I couldn't believe how bad a lot of the streets were coming out of town. That said - this morning when I caught my bus around 6:20am, the streets were plowed and salted. Smooth sailing all the way into town from Shadyside.

Do they dump plowed snow into the rivers? Or is that a no-no from an environmental standpoint (trash, salt, etc.)?
Weather Thread
So what is the official forecast today? I've seen things all over the map.

I'm sure more salt will move the half a foot of snow from Penn Ave.
