We had a tornado touch down a few miles from here, and the power has been out for a couple of hours now.

What's great is that the new owners of our house put the power in their name a month early, so we can't report the outage or get an update as to when it might come back on.

And the candles and flashlights are already packed.

Good times.

Mammatus clouds rolling through Pittsburgh tonight.

I took a post-work nap, woke up to a yellow sky and was so confused.

Clouds definitely played a factor, but I wonder if there is any Saharan dust involved.

Those two simultaneous posts last night were great.

Gents, couldn't ask for a nicer Father's Day weekend. Gonna feel downright chilly in the mornings and not getting above 70-75 either day. Getting that in mid June these days is a #blessing

10 hours without power made for a sticky night with the windows open. At least it was cooler than normal because of the rain.

Nothing like waking at 4 am and lights, TV, multiple UPSes beeping... Gonna need a nap today.

Those clouds/sunset were awesome. Took the kids to the outdoor movie night at Richland park, and sitting up there waiting for the movie to start in the open field, it was just awesome. Never seen anything like that that I remember.

We had the same situation in Charlotte last night. Super cool

The heat index topped out at 113 yesterday. Might beat that today.

IMO, the dude is overrated. He takes a lot of the same pictures and people fawn all over it.

I feel like that's the first time I've seen mammatus in Pittsburgh since like... 99? We had a microburst-type event in the North Hills, and when it finished, the sky was olive green and had the same clouds as above.

It was only out for a couple hours today. In any event I will pay whatever it takes to stay cool.
