This is one of the more impressive cool/dry air masses in August I can remember. The dew point forecast this afternoon on Hatteras is 59 degrees, which is unheard of this time of year. It feels more like when we came in late September a couple of years ago.

Wooo, Carteret County in NC escapes, probably because of coastal breezes. That said if you live more than a few miles from the coast like we did you're both in the swamp and not getting the benefit from those breezes.

I'd be 87 and won't make it (which is fine seeing my parents at 86).

Dark.

I'll be just hitting my 70s. Maybe. Big guys don't stick around for the long haul.

My levels are good, nothing in particular. Just as a general rule tall broad guys don't live as long. My heart is doing a little more work. That's why I'm happy that I have a relatively low beat per minute.

I am a firm believer in low RHR corresponding to a longer lasting heart. Miles on a car.

You soothsaying son of a dodint.

Had my annual check-up today and 'statins' was used for the first time.

My cholesterol is not an issue enough to start using a medication, but he did recommend red yeast rice as a natural statin to help lower it. We'll see what happens.

Honestly, I stopped using them after a month because of fear of Side effects, and decided to go with cardio, red yeast rice, coq10, and a fairly healthy diet. Cutting back drinking was a huge difference maker.

The first I heard of coq10 was to counteract the effects of statins causing muscle pain. That was when I was first prescribed statins in 2008 I think it was?

Statins can deplete your COQ10. There have been studies done on patients that have died from cardiac events and low levels of COQ10 was a very common marker.

Didn’t do us any favors camping last night. Our boys must have forgot to close their rain cover and soaked their sleeping bags. Came into our tent and we must have had a small leak somewhere. Started packing up at 3:45 am

Man, sorry to hear that. Only time I went tent camping as an adult was in Ohiopyle and it poured all weekend long. It was actually really cool while rafting, gave it a River Wild feel. Not so cool as it was coming into the tent.

We were only an hour from home so that’s what we did. Got home around 7:30. What a weird day it was
