The forecast high temperature here is 96 degrees tomorrow and 100 on Sunday. Honestly can't remember the last time I saw that, even with the heat waves we've had. The next week-plus is going to be BRUTAL.

Now I am under no illusions that I'll garner any sympathy as I live in South FL, but we had our company picnic today at work. Outside, in the sun and humidity. Guess who ate their food and was a grumpus and came back inside and is at his work desk now? Me. It was waaaaaayyyy too hot out.

I got my grass done yesterday. Was beautiful, high 70s and partly cloudy.

Remember it can always be worse

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/cap ... c34dc0c6d9
Over a period of 24 hours, the temperature in the coastal city of Quriyat, Oman, never dropped below 108.7 degrees (42.6 Celsius) Tuesday, most likely the highest minimum temperature ever observed on Earth.

For a location to remain no lower than 109 degrees around the clock is mind-boggling. In many locations, a temperature of 109 degrees even during the heat of the afternoon would be unprecedented. For example, in nearly 150 years of weather records, Washington, D.C.’s high temperature has never exceeded 106 degrees.

Quriyat’s suffocating low temperature, first reported by Jeff Masters at Weather Underground, breaks the world’s previous hottest minimum temperature of 107.4 degrees (41.9 Celsius), also set in Oman, on June 27, 2011.

Masters received word of the exceptional temperature from weather records expert Maximiliano Herrera. Incredibly, the temperature in Quriyat, Masters said, remained above 107.4 degrees (41.9 Celsius) for 51 straight hours. Its blistering afternoon high temperature of 121.6 degrees (49.8 Celsius) Tuesday was just about two degrees shy of Oman’s all-time heat record and its highest June temperature, Masters reported.

Pretty crazy thunderstorms out this way this afternoon and evening. And where it rained, there is so much moisture in the air it was like wringing out a drenched sponge. We actually missed out on the huge mass of storms outside the Philly area but have one hell of a light show to our south.

I took this pic with a screenshot from a video from a phone...so all things considered I'm happy with it. Doesn't do it justice tho.

The weather turning to soup curtailed much fireworking...I am pleased.

I was outside for about six or seven hours, first at another parent's BBQ and then all of our neighbors were outside hanging out, setting off fireworks, playing some basketball, etc. Holy hell, that heat takes a lot out of you.

I starting dodinting about that earlier today and then checked the 10-day and after today it's going to be gorgeous. Mid-80s and clear skies through the middle of next week. Bring it.

I would kill for rain. On Tuesday we missed the downpours to our south and east by 5 miles. Yesterday, five miles to our north and west. I cut the grass today because we are under a flood watch and was choking on dust and dead grass

This weekend is going to be absolutely beautiful. No humidity, highs in the upper 70s and lows in the 50s. Enjoy it folks.

I would take a foot of snow over being outside when it is hot and sunny after a drenching rain. Worst feeling weather IMO.

Woke up to take my dog for a walk this morning. Sun filtering through the trees, can see my own breath, etc. Wonderful.

That was the best weather weekend of the summer. Easily. The high in Philly was 79 on Saturday. You have to go back a long time to the last time we had a clear day in this part of July and the temperature didn't hit 80. 35 years in fact. Seeing my own breath two mornings in a row in July is tops.

Nice twilight with Venus tonight.

We had glorious weather here as well, in the low-mid 80s. Very strange for the middle of July in SC.

You guys out west are missing out on the fun Noreaster action tomorrow. Temperatures barely supposed to crack 70 tomorrow, high winds out of the north, and moderate to heavy rain most of the day. Could get at least two inches of rain tomorrow here. Meanwhile, partly cloudy and 80 with scattered storms in Pittsburgh.

My yard desperately needs the rain but attending an outdoor concert in Lancaster tomorrow. Hell of a day for the drought to end after 2 months.
