Kudos to the early snow tire installers. I've yet to put mine on. Could be an interesting ride home

I just ordered myself a winter coat and snow boots. Should have done that weeks ago, but nothing like a good snow storm to get you moving on such things.

When I lived in PA and CT, I said that people’s IQs drop 10-15 points when it snows. Judging by that map and what I’ve heard today, might be able to call it 25-30.Pushing 5" here. Lol

The rain has turned to sleet. My wife is staying with some classmates tonight at SRU to avoid tomorrow morning being bad. I was able to pull my car into the garage in her spot right as it began to ice. Sweet.

Man you guys are getting crushed up there.5-6” so far and it’s still coming down pretty heavily.
Final storm total seems to be about 5.5". This storm WAY outperformed expectations. Google "dynamic cooling"... The cold air aloft held on for way longer than expected, delaying the changeover pretty much all day.
Windy and cold AF now.

I worked from home, but it took my wife an extra hour than normal to get home and she left work around 1:30.

We had an alternating mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain all afternoon. Drive home was fine, roads were just wet. It is snowing pretty hard now, we're supposed to get a few inches tonight.

Got about 7” last night before it started raining and then freezing, then an additional 3” after the rain stopped. It’s a mess out there.

We picked up another inch of rapidly falling snow early this morning as the upper level low pivoted off the coast. The roads are still a disaster in many spots, the only saving grace being that it is going to make it up to around 40 with the sun shining every day. As always, Interstate 78 in the Lehigh Valley was a dumpster fire...every single storm this happens it seems like. That 30 mile stretch between the NJ border and Allentown is always a mess:

The wintry weather has caused a traffic nightmare on a 30 mile stretch of I-78 in the Lehigh Valley.
Vehicles, a majority being tractor-trailers, have been in a standstill at various spots along the roadway from the New Jersey State Line to Route 100.
Some drivers have been stuck in the traffic for 12 hours - since Thursday afternoon. Conditions began improving toward the early morning hours on Friday.
Police drove on the opposite side of I-78, honking their horns, to wake up drivers who fell asleep in their trucks.
"Drivers, wake up! Traffic's moving!" police shouted to drivers.

Roads were fine but there were trees down everywhere in my neighborhood, including my house. Half the tree went into my neighbor's yard (just missing their house) and the other half is still rooted but starting to lean on my house.
Other neighbor's on my street had larger trees come down. Didn't see any houses hit, but somebody is going to make a killing cleaning all this up.
We had no power from about 2AM to 7AM. Apparently a tree a few blocks away hit some power lines.

A buddy of mine had to call off today because he has power lines down on his driveway. He said he should have power by 11:30 tonight. Yikes.
