An overhyped weather event? In Pittsburgh!?! Bullshit.

It was a little icy in Hampton. Had to go out the basement door, because the deck stairs were slick.

It seems to be worse now where I'm at as far as the icy rain falling now.

I slid big time on Mt. Nebo Rd. overpass trying to turn on to 79S. I wasn't even going fast, hit brakes and exactly nothing happened. Hate that feeling. Did 45 in the right lane the rest of the way, though it seemed to be better conditions the closer I got to Robinson.

well, bridges do freeze before the rest of the roads.

Yeah, I puttered to work, too. There are a few consistent slick spots on my commute that always keep me wary.

Penn State is closing at 11, and they rarely close. Must be a big one coming. I might just not come back from lunch.

There is actually a somewhat interesting phenomenon setting up...basically a cold air dam in the eastern part of the state, so that you have snow in Philadelphia and rain in Pittsburgh. That doesn't happen often.

I think you guys will get a couple of inches overnight once the back end of the storm tracks through.

Which is ok with me. I'd rather have a bit of snow than ice.

1/4” of sleet, just under 3” of snow (coming down heavy) with less than a quarter mile of visibility. :D
