Route 8 was trash yesterday, but Duncan and Thompson Run were pristine.

Though somehow my side of the neighborhood (McCandless) was cleaner than the Ross side (which is still really packed slush), and that never happens.

Last night it took me about 2.5 hours to get home.

I waited 40 minutes at an outbound bus stop. Walked to an inbound stop (since we have a flat zone rate now in the city) and caught a bus within 5 minutes. Spent another 20 going through town and then headed outbound. It took 1.5 hours from that point to get home. Normally it takes me 30-40 minutes.

I left at like 4:50 yesterday in Robinson and got home before 5:30. I seem oblivious to all of the commotion.

These are the days where I am able to lie to myself and say the outlandish tolls I pay for the turnpike are worth it.

Wow, I'll say. 50 is going to feel like 70 with the winter we've had so far.

We went from being forecast as a dusting, then up to an inch, then 1-3 inches, and ended up with a dusting. The snow/sleet line basically stopped at the county line 4-5 miles from here, they got 1-2" with snow and freezing rain. Crazy.

Many of our southern offices like New Orleans have been closed the last two days.

Mayhaps your house is too close to the sun if it's going to melt your driveway.

We are already almost a month from the winter solstice, so the sun angle is already increasing (32 degrees vs. about 26 1/2 on Dec 21). It beams in our south-facing windows this time of year, and warms the house up significantly.

That sun angle comes more and more into play with snowstorms. If the ground and air are cold enough (and the precip is heavy enough) it won't matter, but even on a cloudy day with snow, it makes it that much harder to stick.

haha... I'll be trying to finish the dresser that I'm building, put together our new office desk, clean and put together the crib, paint said dresser, and if I've got some time maybe I'll grill some burgers for dinner.
