Another beautiful morning to open up all the windows, and was nice to be able to have the windows open overnight all weekend.

Yeah, pretty crazy how fast we went from summer heat to not seeing a single 70 degree day in the forecast.

i think I golfed last wednesday in 85 degree heat and thursday was a high of 61 with a low of 44, and we're looking to be there for the foreseeable future. Nothing wrong with 60s really if it's sunny, though

I went to Tennessee last weekend and had a fantastic weather weekend.

I'm paying for it this coming weekend as I have a trip to VA/NC, right into the path of the remnants of the hurricane. Calling for 1.27" of rain on Saturday. Yay.

Heavy lake effect rain up here yesterday, today and tomorrow. 2" - 4" more still expected, with 2" - 7" already down.

The weakening before landfall will be a godsend but won't help much with surge

Meanwhile my folks just flew back to Florida today (Tampa area) because they were worried about their lawn furniture…

Rapid strengthening overnight. Much stronger landfall forecast.

My wife's grandma is about an hour northeast of Tampa in The Villages, looks like the storm is going to stall in her vicinity.

I recall exploring Anna Maria Island earlier this year while killing time for a Marauders game, and thinking man, this place would be wrecked by a hurricane. Hard to believe that there has only been one hurricane to hit there.

50 degrees and rainy at my daughter's soccer game last night. You forget after a nice warm summer how exhausting it is just sitting there in that crap.

Sore throat and a sniffle this morning, shocker.

Does the M in the image stand for "major" or something? I see it goes down the progression after (H at landfall, S, D) but I don't remember seeing them use M before.

I'm over on the east coast, top part of Palm Beach County. Its just dreary and continuous rain here. They just put us under a TS warning.
My daughter goes to UCF in Orlando. Despite her parent's advice, she's hunkering down there in her dorm. It might be a lousy couple of days for her.

My university sent out the "we're watching the storm" email last night. We had planned to go to our first college football game Saturday afternoon, but I think we'll pass. Other games are moving up, as will high school games. Fall Harley Davidson rally here this week/end too.

Myrtle Beach is such a **** to drive in without a storm evacuation on; it should be excruciating should that happen at some point.

You're probably gonna just have that dreariness and rain the whole time since you'll be on the 'good side' of the storm. Unless the path turns NE a little earlier than they think and it comes in around Naples, Wednesday afternoon through Thursday night is not going to be too fun around here.

Ian is already spinning up tornadoes in SW Florida.

This track is not good for Sarasota.

Dropsonde data is coming back from the latest hurricane hunter flight. Yikes. 936 MB. Rapidly intensifying per reports.

That is very likely Cat 5. Combined with the storm going through an eye wall replacement cycle right before landfall... Not good. Not good at all.
