Roads very clear here also. Brings back memories when I was just a pup. Back then there was nothing to put on the roads to melt the snow and ice. They used to spread cinders on the roads to try and give cars some traction. We used to take a broom with us when sled riding on neighborhood road hills. We used to sweep the cinders off the road to get better sled riding. We got 4-5 here. Roads look clear though from what I can see. Plows have been down our road several times already.

Southwestern Pennsylvania woke up to the whitest Christmas in living memory.
Between midnight and 8 a.m., 3 inches of snow had fallen at the NWS office. That’s the most since 1935 — and the all-time record is in sight.
The record of 3.5 inches was set in 1890.

This is crazy. CONUS temperature map from 24 hours ago.
Yes, the warmest place in the country outside of Hawaii was far northeastern New England.

My aunt’s house in Concord, NH was 20+ degrees warmer than what it was here. Nuts.

Yep, 18 for me. My neighbors left their irrigation system running, which turned their back yard and their driveway into a sheet of ice. It was cool to see icicles on their fence though.

Wasn't expecting the 2-3 inches of snow we woke up today.

Next week might be very interesting for our friends in NC. Still a ways off and much can change but this is quite the snow signal.

Ah, that's like in two weeks. Didn't see that. We have a rain event with cooler temps on Friday, so I thought the map was referring to that.
What sucks is that we would usually get a snow day, but now we'll just do virtual...like we've been doing for the last two weeks lol.

The local school district here told parents that they would still treat snow days as snow days.

What day are we talking for that event above?
Looks like it says 1/21/21 but that’s two weeks away.

Sorry, this is the total snowfall over two weeks, but I believe the event that would drop most or all of this snow is around the beginning of next week timeframe. What day are we talking for that event above?

Some nice snow events this week for both Texas and western NC. Meanwhile, can't buy snow in the northeast.
Dallas hasn't had a 1+" snowfall in I believe six years so they are due.

I was surprised to learn that Lubbock gets snow accumulation on a fairly regular basis. Must be the elevation.
