I woke up in the middle of the night cause of the lightning and thunder to close the window we had open in the bedroom. No damage here that I know of, and no power outage. New Ken (where i grew up) seemed to get hit really hard. The church that lost it's roof was close to where I used to live growing up.

That's wild, no storm here (that I was aware of)...but had a very vivid dream of being in a big store while there was visibly a tornado happening outside. Hope everyone out there is in good shape...

The storm was moving northwest to South southeast almost. Very odd.

I can never recall a continuous roll of thunder lasting so long. The hard rain woke me up and in the 10 minutes to go back to sleep, the thunder never stopped.

When i looked at the radar about 1:55am it was pure pink right over top of us. I've never seen pink on the radar to indicate rain.

The sound of thunder woke me up, but it really sounded like the metal awning over our porch lifted up and smacked down. I looked outside because I thought it might've been a car crash, but then saw all the lightning and wind.

Was real happy to have my bed right next to the window upon finding out there was a tornado warning /s

No idea how, but we (chickenshit dogs included) completely slept through the storm.

Yeah that was an intense storm. I was completely expecting to wake up this morning without power or to a lot of damage but thankfully had neither. According to Reddit, a large portion of the South Hills lost power. Some still don't have it this morning.

Surprisingly there are very few tree branches/twigs down in our yard. We have a birch and willow tree that shed like a mo fo, but they must have lost all their branches from previous storms. Good thing, bc I'm tired of picking up wheelbarrows full

Ditto, figured all my patio furniture would be strewn about. The patio heater wasn't even blown over.

Part of a tree in my back yard came down. The base of the section is at least 8 inches in diameter. Fortunately, the thickest/heaviest part landed in the yard, and only the thinner top hit the house. Based on the new dent, it looks like the top part hit my metal porch roof. There are sticks and twigs all over the main house roof, but I don't see any damage to the roof or shingles.

My father in law bought a Stihl MS362 before the sht hit the fan. I kind of wish a big ol tree came down (with no damage to any structures, of course)

After I got my daughter down for bed, I threw on my hoody and sweats, poured myself a glass of scotch and sat on the porch for the evening. What a beautiful night.

Apparently the bang I heard last night was indeed my awning. One of the metal slats was lifted out of place. It coming back down on the rest of the metal is probably what woke me up.

And the glass portion of my screen door is all jacked up, likely from the door slamming from the wind.

We had some horrendous weather roll through this morning. We weren't this bad, but this is near Clemson:

We got absolutely pounded last night. I've been up since about 3:00 because our dog went ballistic with the thunder.

No damage, but I guess 85 was shutdown because power lines were down across it around exit 22

we were awoken last night by the local tornado siren and my sister calling to tell us one was headed our way. we knew it was a possibility so we had all supplies in the bedroom with us. we scooped up the animals into their carriers, grabbed all of our stuff and headed for the basement. looks like the tornado broke up just before it got to us. this is why I will always live East of downtown. it's very rare for those storms to hold together over all of those skyscrapers.

Yeah, I saw a bunch of tornado warnings down south on the radar. Up here it is just been torrential, wind-driven rain. Tis the season for the tropical moisture to come up the coast.

We are under a tornado watch now. Crazy satellite imagery, this storm is a powerhouse. The clearing/solar heating that looks like it will be coming through shortly will make the instability even worse.

Straight line winds. I have 6 trees down on my property that I've seen so far. Crazy!
