I appreciate NWS Pittsburgh clarifying which Mount Washington.

I read a book that involved arctic survival. If I recall at those extreme temps the fluids in your eyes will freeze almost immediately and you're pretty **** at that point.

Proximity to the coast tends to moderate weather, not make it more extreme. Is there a reason why it gets such crazy weather? The proximity to the coast?
This explains it well.

The first time I saw those, "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" bumper stickers, I was confused as to why that was an accomplishment.I appreciate NWS Pittsburgh clarifying which Mount Washington.

Well, most bumper stickers are stupid to begin with, which is why I have none.

We've had pollen warnings for ten days or so. January was 5-7 degrees warmer than usual, so trees have started their bullshit 10-20 days earlier. No thanks.

There is a cold front moving in to SoCal today and tomorrow. We actually have an outside potential for snowfall. (Show line is expected to drop to around 1,000' elevation, and our house is at 770'.) I stocked up on canned goods and toilet paper just to be safe.

This winter has sucked. Nothing I love more than seeing leaves popping in Center City in February.

I also thought it was Pittsburgh Mt Washington, but also thought it was a parody of something from years past. The first time I saw those, "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington" bumper stickers, I was confused as to why that was an accomplishment.I appreciate NWS Pittsburgh clarifying which Mount Washington.

We might set high temp records here this week. Highs in the upper 80s. In February. Very normal.

My wife is in San Diego for a conference this week. Their company scheduled a 5k for Friday that will probably get rained out. I feel bad, she's been looking forward to this trip for a year and it's going to be ass weather. San Diego disappoints, again.

I know San Diego as a military town so I'll always view it as the dregs.

SDCC is just the worst. It outgrew the venue 20+ years ago before it even became a 'thing'. I went one time - a trip for which my attendance and time were paid for by my employer - and I swore I'd never voluntarily go again.
I know people who go every year out of perverse curiosity who claim to get genuine enjoyment out of the exercise. These folks, sadly, have been written out of the will.

I went twice. The first year, my buddy who was a regular warned me that at some point during day 2, the floor would begin to smell like horrible BO and literal sh*t stains and by the end of day 3 I wouldn't be able to last more than a few minutes out there. I assumed he was exaggerating. He was not. I hate the stereotype of the fat comic book fan who doesn't shower, but some stereotypes exist for a reason.SDCC is just the worst.
