Not getting out of the 60s this weekend. Can't we just have a string of 70-80 degree days? Doesn't even have to be sunny, just no rain.

Woke up to no power, heard trees are down everywhere about a mile down the road. I didn't even hear anything and it definitely didn't rain, at least within the past few hours, here.

Too many PA people driving to the Jersey Shore. Headed back from farmers market and 80% of the cars headed south on 42/AC Expressway had no front plates.

We had some crazy stuff move through about 3-4 AM this morning. I'm no weather nerd, but I'd imagine there are different types of lightning. Some that build up tons of charge and releases all at once with a big thunderous boom. The stuff we had early this morning was like a continuous little popping of light and the thunder sounded like firecrackers. The light show was incredible.

SWPA gonna get any rain? Pretty soon I'm gonna have to go hose down the garden. My tomato plants are wilting.

Maybe later today.

This is one serious line of severe storms moving across Pennsylvania. Warnings everywhere, and this line is moving southeast anywhere from 75-100 miles per hour! I've never seen a line race across the state like this. It's crazy how quickly it is getting threatening here.

68 MPH wind gust at Philly International. 83 (!) in Reading. The incident report for Montgomery County is crazy.

They are saying some maybe starting around 9. Originally they were saying it would rain most the afternoon. Looks like I should be able to mow.

So the severe weather in SE PA and NJ was pretty historic today. NWS actually classified that line as a derecho.

https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/weather ... d/2417062/
Tropical storm force winds toppled trees onto roadways and ripped roofs off of homes around noon. A peak wind gust of 83 mph was clocked in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Another gust of 73 mph was recorded in Philadelphia's Homlesburg section.

Those winds felled trees in neighborhoods across the region. In Montgomery County, falling trees led to the deaths of three people, county officials said.

A staff member at the Philmont Country Club in Lower Moreland died when a tree crashed through the roof of a building at the facility. Two people died in separate incidents when trees fell onto their cars in Lower Merion. One person was driving along Belmont Avenue at Rock Hill Road and the other was along Medford Road.
The National Weather Service recorded 185 storm reports during and immediately after the storm. More than 400,000 power customers were left without electricity in the Lehigh Valley, South Jersey and around Philadelphia.

According to Forbes, a rescue operation was immediately launched after the landslide occurred in Alta municipality, Norway. Everyone was safe and no injuries were reported.
That's pretty insane that nobody was injured.
