What a gorgeous weekend.

Also, NWS Pittsburgh had enough of their ****.

Yesterday was pretty much the perfect summer day imo. Not too hot, but hot enough to do pretty much whatever you wanted. Just stunningly beautiful.

Yep.. it was warm, but not humid. Could keep the windows open for air and go outside and do things with out being drenched in sweat in a few minutes.

The last 3-4 days have been the nicest stretch of June weather....ever? I honestly can't think of a single complaint the last few days. It was warm for my daughter's tournament yesterday but manageable and not humid.

It was about 10 degrees warmer than we planned for during twilight golf last night but I'm not complaining.

Triple digits here (well, my inland home for another 2 weeks) next week. So gross.

Bring those umbrellas, tables, yard signs and pets inside tonight. Predictions are saying there is a chance for 70+ mph winds around 11 pm.

There's a significant chance that the storms out in the Midwest today form a derecho that charges east-southeastward overnight. If nothing else, winds are going to pack a serious wallop.

Decayed remains of the derecho rolling in. Not much wind but a lightning strike no more than a couple hundred yards away right after I opened the French doors

Fort Wayne hit almost 90mph yesterday.

Friend of mine was right. By 11 pm, NWS Pittsburgh was calling for 50 mph winds.

I woke up at 3 and decided to head downstairs and check out the storm. I noticed a few gusts that were moving the trees a little and a little rain, but not much beyond that.

My porch furniture and rug flip over in the weakest of storms. Nothing moved at all last night.

I parked my car out in the main street as opposed to under the townhouse deck because i would've been right under a large tree.

I'm glad it wasn't as bad as it could've been, and don't regret being a little cautious.

All I heard was a very loud boom of thunder around like 4am.

Apparently the house that caught fire down the street is unoccupied as it is currently listed. It was pretty wild watching firefighters axe out the windows and part of the roof to get to the fire.

First day of our NC vacation is forecast for 100F. My golf outing starts at noon a few days later as is set for 92F.

This is why we don't visit during the summer, but we're bringing some friends down so we decided to go at peak tourist season. Cool.

What's up with the Yellowstone rain pretty much closing the park and stranding people there. Absolutely crazy. You'd figure it would be a drought or fire that would be the issue.

They get a metric butt-ton of snow every year, so I assume this is runoff. There is a river that winds through the northern(?) part of the park into Yellowstone Lake, so I can see that overflowing and causing issues.

Hopefully it was insured. This happened to my family. House was vacant and a pipe burst. Insurance policy stated no coverage of a vacant home. My family lost out on about $70k of value..
