There will likely be a good sized snow pack on the ground, good question. Travel will be fine by then.I have someone coming to shoot grade next Friday on some land for building. Wonder if this impacts doing that.

If there's snow on the ground, it might have an impact. But they'll probably be able to do it.

Of note--the CIPS Analogs compares modeled storms to storms throughout history...this can be helpful to possibly predict how a storm might pan out. The analogs are ranked by match.
Two of the Top 4 matches are the historic Blizzards of 1996 and 2016. That's...something.

See that gap between the heavier accumulations out in the Midwest and along the coast? That's where the primary low cutting across the Midwest dies out ages transfers its energy to the coastal behemoth.

So you're telling me there's a chance

Some modeling last night showed almost 40" of snow over Lancaster County. Insanity. I'm not expecting anything close to that but just the fact the signal is there is something.
Modeling also shows the primary low dying more quickly, which is not what yinz wanted to see (well some of you lol). Keeps highest totals further west.

This is insanity. Not even saying this is going to verify, but I don't ever remember seeing modeling show totals over 40" for one storm. This is going to be historic.

How is it out there for yinz? I checked the Pittsburgh subforum on American WX but thought I'd ask.

A dusting so far, driveway isn't covered and I can still see grass. And it has stopped snowing.

I'm skeptical that Beaver Co is going to get more than a couple inches out of this. Less than 1" here so far and just a flurry now.
Weather Thread
Half an inch maybe. Grass still poking up through the snow. I guess more is still planned? Pretty underwhelming so far.

I was all worried and put up my wipers last night. I went to bed at 1 and it still hadn't started.

Sorry gents. These Miller B systems are a nightmare for forecasters. That said, the NYC metro is going to be buried.
