I literally don't understand how people aren't critical of themselves when they don't shower. Has to be mental illness.

There is also an enormous number of cosplayers running around, many of which are super duper advanced makers with screen-accurate attire. So there is a disproportionate number of people on the floor who spend the entirety (or at least the bulk) of their time indoors in polyester-lined rubber suits encased in plastic. To paraphrase Pete Holmes as Badman, that really seals in the flavor.

I don't think it'll get that low until tomorrow, but Friday's high will definitely be at midnight.

It certainly sucks, though I'm pretty sure it'll be the only habitable place left south of Canada after climate change kicks in full bore.

There was a light dusting of snow on the Hollywood sign overnight. You'll have to take my word for it.

More precip off and on through Weds, but the heaviest stuff is behind us. The neighborhood next to us got 10.79 inches of rain in 72 hrs. There is an area in the mountains east of here that got almost 8 feet of snow.

Between Thurs and Sat last week within about 75 miles of where I'm sitting we had biblical precipitation of just about all varieties

- rain
- snow
- hail
- sleet
- graupel*

Plus
- thunderstorms with multiple lightning strikes
- a waterspout
- a tornado
- sustained winds over 50 mph, gusts to hurricane force
- Flooding and mudslides
- Hollywood Beach in Oxnard had snow, which I think the last time that happened was the 40s.

* We had graupel at our house; I initially thought this was considered rain, but I gather it's actually considered a type of snow.

I didn't make it up, but I did just hear it for the first time in my life about 90 minutes ago.

I mentioned it in passing a while ago but there are all kinds of different names for precipitation that pop up in my flight training. None of them are good news. ;)
