Just finished clearing my driveway. Looks to me like we got more snow here in little Warshington today than we got all last winter. I measured a little over 6 inches. 2020 isn't getting any better yet.
Hopefully you're not shoveling.

Unless the snow on my driveway is over six inches or so, I've found that my heavy-duty push broom does a faster job at shoving the snow into my yard than my snow shovel.

I did shovel. It was light snow and my driveway is only around 100 feet. Not a big deal. If it was wet snow I would have used my self propelled blower.

Got my first true appreciation of my garage today. I ran out to get some rock salt, and it was nice going down and just getting in the car no having to turn it on, or clean it off etc.

Those sun-beam lights that NTP has been promoting forever paid dividends last night. I was able to go out and shovel the driveway before my wife came home from work, but it was plenty dark out by then. I angled the sun-beams from the garage out towards the driveway and it was like daytime out there.

Did you happen to spot any deer down the block while you were at it?

2nd day of being outside at 630 shoveling snow and clearing off cars. I love it. Did the neighbors as well. Nice way to wake up.

The light on my back porch went out yesterday. I ordered a new LED that has about 500 less lumens than the "sun in your garage" light because it'll actually fit into the light fixture. We'll see how it does when it gets delivered.

Not sure if it'll be like this all winter but my new blacktop driveway melted off the snow by 9am both days.

I finished my wiring job this past weekend just in time for the snow. The back porch LED spotlight lit up the entire back yard so the kids got to sled ride well past their bedtime. I expect a #1 dad coffee mug for Christmas

Sunday and Monday are tied for the earliest sunsets of the year in most of PA. Tuesday's sunset will be two seconds later, and we will gain our first evening minute back by the 14th.

For sunrises, we still have 14 minutes to lose in the morning. 7:29 now, will get as late as 7:43 on January 3 before that starts getting earlier.

Meteorological winter already getting off to a more promising start than last year. Of note, PHL has not recorded an inch of snow since March 2019. Crazy.

Small event at the beginning of next week followed by a more significant storm Wednesday into Thursday. Still some time but a lot of potential.

It's funny...Pittsburgh obviously averages more snowfall every year than Southeast PA. That said, it seems like that's in large part due to Pittsburgh getting a lot of small to moderate snows. When we get a storm out east, it's a bomb. If even half of this amount actually verifies, that will be something. Hopefully close enough to Christmas to not melt and have a "white" one?

Was hoping for more. I have a snowblower I am selling but was going to wait for the next snowfall to list it.

My wife's semester is over so she is picking up some shifts. Got assigned Donegal, Thur/Fri. Right in time for the 4+ inches we are getting on Wednesday night.

A couple of the models are really trying to amp this system up and bring the low pressure system considerably further west. If that trend continues, this could be a really nice storm for the western half of PA. You can see the model differential here.

I'd be feeling really good about this if I was N and W of I-81. Starting to get a bad feeling this will be 35 degree rain unless this westward shift stops quickly.

6Z NAM vs. RGEM.
