At least once a year there is a prediction of 3+ inches of snow forecast, advisory, all that ish, and then the forecasted low temperature is like 30. which is exactly the case tonight. how the f is all that going to accumulate if the ground is still warm

Well, I was certainly wrong about the snow. Like Mr. K I didn't think the ground warmth could sustain significant accumulation.

Welcome to December.

Lots of snow on the grass here, but the roads look clear at least in the Monroeville area.

We're probably at the 2" mark here I'd say. There was at least an inch on the roads in some spots at like 6:50AM.

I'm surprised how much I enjoy the snow when I'm working from home and don't have to go anywhere.

Yeah, I'm home until Monday unless I go hunting so let it fly. More annoyed the last day of hunting on Saturday is 41F and rain. Really hope I can get something before then.

Roads and sidewalks are clear in pittsburgh. Snow stuck to vehicles mostly.

Yeah WFH makes me not care all that much. My wife had to drive into work into Shadyside at 6am so she wasn't as happy.

Yea, it's nice because if I have to clear the driveway, it's because of daycare the next day. Otherwise, F it.

I’d say at least three inches at this point in the great white north of southern Butler County. Either that or the wind is just blowing everything into my backyard. Doofus dog is in heaven though. He would spend all day playing in the snow if allowed.

Pittsburgh Dad Jr. is the authority on all things Pittsburgh. How do we know? Because he'll be smug about it and tell you about it repeatedly when the joke doesn't land the first time.

Maybe he’ll wreck his car ignoring the three inches of snow on the road someday.

My eleven month old dog definitely forgot what snow was heading into today

I forgot to take the bike rack off the van, what a cluster **** that was this morning with the snow and ice and wiper trying to move. Neighbors got to hear a lot of quality swearing

Welcome to December.
The bigger factor when it comes to snow accumulation is sun angle (or lack of sun). Snow falling at night obviously has a much better chance of accumulating than during the middle of the day, even when it is cloudy. But we are also entering the prime time for daytime snow accumulation (from now until the middle of January), when the sun is lower in the sky than it is the rest of the year.

Interesting look at the data for severe weather reports, grouped by National Weather Service office. Mount Holly, NJ (which covers all of eastern PA and much of NJ) is second, only behind northern Colorado. We've definitely had some crazy weather this year.

Just finished clearing my driveway. Looks to me like we got more snow here in little Warshington today than we got all last winter. I measured a little over 6 inches. 2020 isn't getting any better yet.
